i see the question: "if athiests arent of a religion shouldnt they NOT be in the R&S section?" however if u watch, most of the athiests here will ask questions regarding christianity or a certain religion where-as the christians ask about evolution (as they both try to deny the other's belief). so instead shouldnt it be the christians who take their questions regarding evolution to the science section and the athiests to stay here to continue with their questions about religion? (im not democratic but if i had a question about democracy why would i take it to the replubic to have answered?)

I'm a Christian and I am always glad to answer questions from Atheist that are serious questions and not just an attempt at disrespecting someones beliefs. I am more than happy Atheist ask questions here. And I agree with you that questions concerning Evolution should be in the science area and all questions concerning religions hould be in the religion section.

Occasionally a creationist posts in the science area. They really don't belong there, since creationism isn't "science". (It fails the test of falsifiability, for one thing). If a creationist comes to discuss the issue in scientific terms, then that would be quite welcome, but that virtually never happens: the creationist posts there are almost invariably idiotic rants that don't even pretend to be interested in any "evidence" other than the bible.

This is the Religion & Spirituality section. Questions (and answers) on religious topics belong here. If an atheist is questioning religion itself, then the topic under discussion definitely pertains to religion, so this is the right place for it.

If you disagree, then tell me this... what section do you think atheist questions really should be in?

I believe all beings are spiritual therefore, yes an Athiest has the right to post in a spiritual forum that is open to differing truths. People would be best to place no judgement in a spiritual forum or anywhere as this is not 'being spiritual'. Religion means something one is devoted to and if an Athiest is devoted to Athiesm then that too would apply as a 'religion'.

Well honestly Atheism is not science, your thinking of evolution and most creationists that ive seen do post their questions in science. Atheism in general can be thought of as a religion because it's the "belief" in no gods.

most of the so-called questions by athiests about Christianity are not honest... they are ment to bait and only want to cause unrest. They continualy ask the same questions and get the same replies and it just goes onandonandonandonandonandon........

I accept honest questions concerning the basics of The True Christian Faith. 1 honest question receives 1 honest answer to the best of my ability...

I thought this site was to learn and share thoughts and ideas about religion and spirituality.

So if I don't cook I can't go in the food section?

Just so you know...I'm an atheist but I'm a spiritual person.

The Xians you're referring to think that their religion is the only religion, and that they own this forum, because it's part fo the whole world that god created just to give to them--you won't get through to them--hell, a block of C4 couldn't blast a new idea through their heads--blessed be

It must be nice for the Christians to get away with being EVANGELICAL i.e. actively promoting belief but if anybody has the temerity to question it "they shouldn't post here". What a mentality.

I am a Christian and have no problem with the atheists posting questions...that's what this section is all about - religious dialogue (which includes questioning the validity of any religion).

That makes sense to me.

atheist: One who disbelieves or denies the existence of God or gods.

religion: A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion. (definition #4 of 4)

If I'm reading the dictionary definitions right, then just because a person disbelieves or denies the existence of God doesn't mean that person can't advocate his/her position with zeal.
