just about all of the major "blockbuster" movies, portray government as evil and corrupt. Is this portrayal actually brainwashing people into thinking that government is always the bad guy?

Hollywood has been anti government since shortly after WWII. I love how evil the government looks in E.T. They start brainwashing them early don't they? I really enjoyed V for Vendetta even though it portrays an anarchist view of things.

Many times a cinematic illustration, constantly repeated on the big screen and on television sets can distort the public opinion concerning a particular subject - in this case the government. Other times we experience such consistently frequent representation of a particular topic, in the same way, because moviemakers have stumbled on to the truth of that topic, and are merely reflecting it in their artwork. In this day and age I opt for the latter scenario.

Movies are depicting the government as an insidious force that is ultimately self-serving because there is a kernel of truth to that assertion. It is better for the public to have a healthy suspicion of government than to blindly subscribe to the notion that government is innocuous, and is only here for the betterment of mankind. An ample dose of apprehension of authority works to keep us mindful of actions that could lead to the rise of tyranny and to our subjugation.

They play on fear and anger. If you are realistic, you realize that with very few exceptions, the masses no longer have any say in what the government chooses to do. This frustration pisses off a lot of people. Nobody likes feeling helpless. The realization that our politicians keep us in this subservient position is what makes us look at the government as "the bad guy".

When the government throws a 20 Million Dollar party for itself to celebrate the "Iraqi War Victory" while our soldiers die out there everyday, then yes there is clear evidence that the government is evil and corrupt.

Yes , I do. They also teach a lack of respect of authority from parents through president. The decline of morals have increased with repeated watching of movies, television & even books making us believe everyone acts that way.
We are slowly desensitized by repeated murders & lack of respect of goverment.

Yes I think that's true. They also portray business people and big corporations as evil and many people are unable to tell movie scripts from the real world.
