Just a quick word to the wise - if it's not too late, I'd advise you to change your wedding date. I know Valentine's Day seems terribly romantic, but your florist will be completely overwhelmed, and since it's an extremely busy time for their suppliers, too, it will be hard to ensure good-quality flowers. If you don't care about that, then by all means, go right on ahead.

I would keep the Valentine's theme part of it very low-key; maybe just focus on a single color, say, red, to avoid everything being too "busy" with the Air Force uniforms, etc. Red roses + the navy blue of the uniforms (and the gold trim) could be very beautiful together. Just don't go overboard with the hearts and cupids and whatnot, or it will be overkill. Try to express the theme with color rather than actual decorations. I think it could work!

Good luck with your plans - and mazel tov!

Here's an idea for you:

Instead of having emphasis on the Valentines theme, focus on just using the colors instead. Red, white and gold (or silver) will get the "Valentines" point across. Don't over-do it with hearts, cupids and arrows and you won't look tacky at all.

Have fun with it and remember a wedding celebrates your love for each other not how much money you spent showing that love!

Congrats!

Are you sure you want Valentine's Day for your wedding day? I mean...it's such a Hallmark holiday type of day...my husband and I purposely picked a day that wasn't around any holidays because we wanted our own special thing.

But beyond that, how about just doing a red, white and blue theme - the red and white go with Valentine's and the flag colors go with USAF? It would work perfectly!!

Have your fiance wear his uniform and his grooms men wear uniforms as well. The grooms cake can have something to do with USAF. As for the rest of it fo with the valentine's theme that way you get to have both themes. My husband is in the air force and I had him do this and it came out perfect, I didn't get married on valentine's but it will work out things always do. Hope this helps best of luck sweet heart ....

What type of USAF theme are you looking to do? Airplanes and such? I'm not really sure what type of USAF theme you would do. I get the Valentine's theme... that's easy. Depends on what type of USAF theme you had in mind. If you or your fiance (or both) are going to wear your uniforms then that would be lovely. I'm not sure if you would work in airplanes and such with hearts and red valentine's.

I have to agree with the other posters that are urging you to not get married on Valentine's Day.

Take it from a Christmas Baby. You do not want to share your special day with the rest of the world, and your guests may not like having to give up their Valentine's Day for your wedding.

Due to my experience with the Christmas birthday I have VOWED I will never get married anywhere near any holiday. I want at least one day to myself.

trip weddings may well be quite alluring because of the fact there are maximum of neat subject concerns and decorations you ought to use. December weddings may well be Christmas-y in case you rejoice it, or you could beautify in white and silver, or use crimson velvet, or twinkle lights fixtures. Valentine weddings could have hearts and crimson flora and all varieties of neat aspects. vast warning, although: There are numerous issues to think of roughly in the previous making plans a trip wedding ceremony. First, no longer all of us on your centred visitor record will % to return and forth for a trip wedding ceremony in the event that they stay out of city, or perhaps those in-city could be deluged with social gathering invites or family contributors plans, and could no longer % to function yet another journey to the calendar. 2nd, wedding ceremony places and distributors (cake human beings, photographers, and so on.) are busiest throughout trip situations, and additionally you will have a perplexing time looking a venue to your reception that isn't already booked. finally, each little thing is pricier on trip journeys--working example, think of the markup on your flora in case you married on Valentine's Day! Reception places are infamous for jacking their expenditures up in December and around 15 august 1945. i think of the two time of 12 months could be alluring and do-in a position. yet once you % to pass with a trip month, plan forward and be conscious which you may hit some extra bumps in the line alongside with your making plans. stable luck!

Pick a theme and go with it, two is ridiculous. Also are you sure you want your anniversary to be Valentine's Day, it's a little trite.
