You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout to use as well. It's more inclusive than Atkins and doesn't unhealthily restrict certain food groups/nutrients.

The diabetes sites have good ideas on keeping your weight stable and have good meal planning strategies.

Exercise is good but can add to your muscle mass so may not look like you are losing any weight on the scale, but are firming up though and your clothes should fit better.

I always say cut your portions a little, put some back in the pot so to speak, this is why the diabetes site is great because it shows how much a portion is or should be and so on. Good luck

Follow the food pyramid, with excersize. Daily walking even. And don't eat after say 7PM or so. I did all of this, one year 91 lbs, and have kept it off for 2 years now. It also teaches you the right way to eat ANYthing, and still be healthy. :-) Portions.
Good Luck.
PS the most important part of ANY goal or weight loss, is to decide in YOUr mind, that YOU want to do it for YOU~ :-)
