In my last "hell" question a lot of Jehovah Witnesses said that when you die you just go to the grave and that's it. So then why should anyone become a christian then? Just to roam the earth? What is your "interpretation" of the following scripture said by Jesus himself in Matthew 18:8 then,
"If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire."
Just curious...

Hey,hell is real.Don't think another moment it's not.I'm not going to badger you,but when a man is laying in his death bed dying screaming he's on fire and turns a hardcore atheist doctor to Jesus,it's pretty overwhelming.Other atheists will tell you that was emotional b.s.That's how shallow minded they can be.If they would think outside the box, they would see there is more to life than what you can see.

The whole bible is symbolic, why do you think he said he never spoke to them with out an illustration.
There is a bunch of ways to prove that was only symbolic.
Luke 16:23 this rich man died and saw Lazarus in the bossom possition with Abraham. Jesus was telling the story, so he wasn't dead. Read Colossians 1:18 speaks of Jesus as the first born from the dead. He was the first one to ever be resurrected to heaven. So Abraham couldn't have been in heaven.
Let alone Lazarus. And is heaven so close that you can see those suffering in hell? that wouldn't make any sense.
Since they teach it is in the center of the earth and heaven is some blissful place out in the cosmos.
It was just a story or illustration. Should you really cut off a foot?
If someone steals should you cut off his hand? If he looks at a women and has a desire for her he should be blinded?
that is ridiculous! As the illustration he gave about the camel going through the eye of a needle. Like we say find a needle in a haystack. It is just a figure of speech.
As to your saying if you are not going to hell why be a Christian?
If you had a child would you want him to be obedient because you would spank him if he isn't or would you want him to love you, and wanted to please you so he was obedient?
This earth could be a beautiful paradise and a joy to live here.
Without threats of hell fire or torture or even the grave.
But think of what Adam and Eve lost and what if? What if?
You could have the chance they did? wouldn't that be something you would want? I know I would.

A person doesn't have to believe in hell to go there. Actually, it is just the opposite of Christ. You have to believe ON Christ to go to heaven. You can simple go to hell and refuse to believe in anything. cool huh?

Jehovah Witness'? hahahah. Gezzzzz.

When Jesus Christ Himself preached hell more than any biblical figure in the bible, I would say, it's real.

JW's can NOT support their so called Theory with the KJV without totally contradicting other scripture. This is why, they had to dream up their own book.

A Jehovah Witness, would not know Truth if it were a mousetrap and snapped them on the tip of the nose. It's just that simple.

There is no place in the KJV, that refers to "soul sleep". hahahhahahahaaa lmbo.

A soul is NOT in the grave. NObody can show scripture where it is. I have several scriptures that absolutely says: "absent from the body..present with the Lord".

Now...The Lord in the grave with this person?

First of all, if a person thinks "Hell" is the Lake of fire, They are wrong. Hell is mentioned 127 times in the New Testament. It has 6 different meanings, for a reason. If a person knows Hebrew and Greek, they already know this. Unfortunately, most people don't.

The Lake of Fire does NOT even exist yet. It has not been prepared. The New Kingdom (Heaven) has NOT been prepared yet.

Is There A Real Hell?
What do these names Sheol, Hades, Gehenna, Queber, Tartarus, Abyss, Hell, and the Lake of Fire mean?

When a person understands what these are, they will understand hell. It is quite obvious a JW has ZERO clue about these words. These are translated words from Greek and Hebrew that refers to hell and in what verse they are mentioned.
Unless a person "know's", the translation, THEY CAN'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS.

Good Q*.

Second, part of becoming a Christian is to not only avoid spending a eternity in Hell, but to also go out and help other ppl come to God so that they don't either. Wouldn't it be ashamed if when you died and went to heaven you saw all your friends and family in Hell because you didn't want to take out the time to talk to them because you didn't see any point in being a Christian?

As for Matt. 18:8, that is not meant to be taken literally. When I first got saved that scripture kind of through me off to, but what it's basically saying is that if something or someone is causing you to sin then you should cut it off. Not cut it off literally but cut off the relationship or the amount of time you spend doing it. For example, if hanging out with a certain guy is going to cause you to do things that don't align with the word of God then maybe you should take a step back and change the relationship you have with him.

Does that make since?

a million) What if the Prophecy had 'replaced' because of a few Angels or Nephilim; as Jacob shows us that there is a conflict to be constructive in the benefits given? faraway from Me is written almost about the overall judgements of the solid Maker who destroys the works of the evil one. for this reason, He replaced into waiting to fulfill it instantly away! Then, Noah discovered want in God's Eyes and Comforting replaced into The Prophecy for Him. Lamech 777 ; Noah 600... a distinction of 177. one hundred and twenty replaced into given to Noah : 600/one hundred and twenty = 5. 177 - one hundred and twenty = 157 - one hundred Abraham = fifty seven. Lamech replaced into 182...- 177 = 5 years. 600 - 595 = 5. 2) it truly is the solid information... that in spite of the actual incontrovertible truth that there replaced into difficulty in the international, The Resurrection replaced into Coming. 3) solid question. God is solid to 'enemies', by ability of situations and seasons. Then The Resurrection and The life to come back. 4) Human Sacrifices were 'no longer' sought as a delight to Jehovah. 5) the daddy's Will replaced into that Messiah who knew no sin might want to undergo the flow and that all Judgment and means in Heaven and Earth replaced into given Him. 6) This replaced into The Testimony from the start, in the day that you devour it you'll die {once tasting lack of life, as appointed, and then The Resurrection}. you'll strike The Heel {your Father} and He { Your Father} will weigh down Your Head. The Lybians {Freedpeoples}, and Nubians {lively peoples} were to pursue the pretend prophet gog is Daniel. The Lamb that replaced into slain before the rules of the earth and The Prophecy replaced into that human beings might want to devour it.

Finding out that the Greek word some bible translate as hell fire is really in Greek Gehenna,

and finding out that Gehenna was the garbage dump, that used fire and sulpher to totally destroy the garbage is

not side stepping the issue. it is shedding Light on a mistranslation and a God dishonoring false teaching.

Gehenna

(originally Ge bene Hinnom; i.e., "the valley of the sons of Hinnom"), a deep,
narrow glen to the south of Jerusalem, where the idolatrous Jews offered their
children in sacrifice to Molech (2 Chr. 28:3; 33:6; Jer. 7:31; 19:2-6). This
valley afterwards became the common receptacle for all the refuse of the city.
Here the dead bodies of animals and of criminals, and all kinds of filth, were
cast and consumed by fire kept always burning. It thus in process of time
became the image of the place of everlasting destruction. In this sense it is
used by our Lord in Matt. 5:22, 29, 30; 10:28; 18:9; 23:15, 33; Mark 9:43, 45,
47; Luke 12:5. In these passages, and also in James 3:6, the word is uniformly
rendered "hell," the Revised Version placing "Gehenna" in the margin.

I became a Christian, not because I feared eternal hell fire.

I became a Christian because I love Jehovah God, and His Son Jesus.

Fear of hell won't save you. Love and faith will.

Edit:

Soul in the grave:

NASB
Ps 16:10For You (W)will not abandon my soul to Sheol;
Nor will You (X)allow Your Holy One to [b]undergo decay.

NIV
10 because you will not abandon me to the grave,

Ps 30

NIV
3 O LORD, you brought me up from the grave

NASB
3O LORD, You have (F)brought up my soul from Sheol;

NASB
Ps 49:15 But God will redeem my life (soul) from the grave;

There are more.

For one thing "Christian" is a sweeping term. Catholics don't believe the same way as Baptists who don't believe the same way as Jehovah Witnesses (who many would say aren't really Christian) who don't believe the same way as Methodist who don't believe the same way as Lutherans who don't believe the same way as Episcopalians...etc, etc, etc....Every denomination of Christian would give you a different answer on the above...not all would interpret that verse the same just because they are all "Christian".

Many believe "eternal fire" is the hell you make yourself here on earth by the cause of your own mistakes. Some believe "eternal fire" means hell as in another realm after you die like Heaven is.

You study your own faith...Christian or Jewish or Muslim or otherwise...study and come to one's own assumptions...and believe and interpret the way you want to...not all will EVER agree and be on the same page. Those that think it's clear as a bell and all should see are wrong...even Christians don't all agree (not even close).
I understand your curiosity - but the bottom line is people are people with different ideas and beliefs.

I have stated before I do not believe in the hell of religiosity. It's like holding god responsible for things on earth. We have free will. We create hell on earth by war, depravity and poverty.

I also do not believe in JC as the actual son of god or as a god but a son of god as we all are. There appears to have been a person or prophet around that time who gave good advice and was a bit of a rebel. As we know this person spoke in parables or metaphors. So when he advised cutting off a limb that made one sin, he was speaking figuratively meaning to mentally restrain our maladaptive actions, which may restrict your natural predispositions to be deviant, but this self limitation would allow one to exist as a functioning human being in society.
