Come for a visit. See how you like the place. Please keep in mind its big, and dont judge it by the first meathead who ticks you off. We like visitors, as long as they keep the peace.
My girlfreind came to Canada under the live-in caregiver program, and worked as a nanny for 2 years, then applied for her landed immigrant status (pretty much the same as a green card), and was accepted, so she could work anywhere she wanted, then 3 years later, got her full citizenship. The whole process of citizenship takes 5 years. But a resident here has pretty much the same beneifits as a citizen, except yu cant vote. Even that is a joke, as we registered her as a voter for an election before she was eligible, just for the fun of it.
Have a good time!

Welcome. You don't have to but you must at least be legal and it's best you do if you intend to live here as a contibuting memeber of society. You'll need to get a job and pay taxes as we do not need more people living off of the backs of hard working citizens, getting free healthcare etc.

You need to apply for residency, or visitor or student or work visa.
You only need to be a citizen if you are planning on voting.
