I was at work today and got yelled at by a coworker. This was only a few minutes before break so when I went to break, I went in the bathroom and bawled my eyes out. I hate my job. It pays good but it's not what I want to do. I hate where I live. We're looking around but we aren't moving soon enough. Heck yesterday isn't soon enough. I hate being away from my kids for 8 hours a day but I have to. I miss my kids so much everydau while I'm gone. I felt a little better after I was done but I'm still upset. This woman didn't make me cry, she just set me off. Anyone else do this often? I seem to be doing it everytime my kids can't see.

Yes, mommies cry too! I would have thought that maybe you are experiencing post-partum depression, but since you didn't say you had just given birth in the last few weeks that probably isn't the case. You cry when you can't see your kids? Sounds like you're just really unhappy about having to go to work and not be with them. It happens. I haven't had a baby for 13 years but whenever school starts and the kids are gone all day, well, for about the first week I miss them something awful and often times break into tears. It's sort of a separation anxiety (of course, after I make the adjustment then I'm okay). Maybe if you can sort of change your outlook on things you could improve your situation...like, i.e. if you see the time you have to go to work as something that you are doing to improve yourself or it's something you have to do to support them then you'd feel better about it. I know when I have those moments I do something to focus my attention away from the fact that we are apart. I focus my energy and attention on the job I'm doing at the moment, not on my missing them. You don't say how long you have been experiencing these feelings...I'm no professional by any means, but if it happens once in a while...yes, it's normal.

It does sound like stress and it sounds like you need to explore new careers. There are wonderful websites out there to help you find one you like and that will pay. You might also try a placement agency. My wife changed careers a few years ago and now she makes more than I do! I love her so!

Take Care.
