The questions may not be very different from those you would encounter for this type of position for any employer. As receptionist, you may be assessed for telephone manner, how well you meet new people, as well as how well you interact with young children since you will likely have lots of contact with them. All that, plus maybe a background check, drug test, and a check of references from previous employers. They may want you to have certain computer skills, and they may ask you questions to get you to talk so they can evaluate your language and communication skills. They may ask why you left your last job, why you want this job, other questions that you might be asked in any interview for a clerical position. A good interviewer might even posit a scenario that you might encounter in this job and ask you how you'd handle it. This would probably be a question that would relate specifically to being a school receptionist. In addition, some large school districts routinely give written grammar & spelling tests and a keyboarding test to potential new hires. This helps them winnow out unsuitable candidates.

They may very well ask you what's your philosophy on teaching. I wasn't ready for that one~ well didn't expect that question anyway lol ! Thank God I just passed a philosophy course at the time. That had me prepared. Dress well for the interview- a little bit more formal than casual. Be ready for other questions like what would you do in a given situation if you had such and such a problem with a given child that has a learning disability. When I was with a group of teachers- they thought my interview was tough. The questions can vary and may involve teaching methods and approaches too.
