Is there a charge to move the ashes of a deceased person into Mexico by airplane?

Just pack them up well and put them in your checked suitcase. Leave the urn at home. They don't weigh much without the urn so there wouldn't be much appreciable extra weight.

I would think that they could be put into your checked bag, if they are in a proper container and wont spill.
I don't see how the airline could charge you for that.
