my brother was found in his home with a gunshot wound to the chest..later found that he had actulally been shot twice.
The Detroit Police labeled this a suicide, No evidence of foul play.
There was no blood found except on his rug, My brother was a very healthy person, I asked if there was anything missing, I was told no. Later thinking how would they know, no money was found in his home whcihc my brother always kept.
The crime was labeled as a suicide..Is there some where I can go to get a copy of the case or get the information that the police has.
I would hire a private investigator but I do not have that kind of money....HELP

Go to the police department that was handling it. Ask to see the file. You'll probably have to pay for copies but you should be able to see the file.

I know it would be expensive, but you could hire an atterny to reopen the case so the police would have to re-investigate. Some police just turn the other cheek in these instances, when in reality, there is normally much more to the story than they feel like dealing with. They want to make things simple, just so they can say their doing they're putting in their 40 hrs a week.

i would check out getting an independent med examiner to review your brothers autopsy report, which you will need to purchase from the medical examiner's office who conducted he original autopsy. contact any good defense attorney in your area for the name of a few good ones. contact the med examiner and find out what they charge and what all would be involved. there would be more weight behind a second m,e, report to get your brother's case re-opened than just you trying. there is no way any of this is going to be cheap, but you may be able to work out a reasonable plan of action with the independent m. e. perhaps some of your relatives could help with he cost. once your have a second opinion that agrees with your own, the police would have to re-investigate, i you still don't get satisfaction, that' when you look into hiring the private investigator. the sooner you get started the better,

Sorry to hear about your lose Jazzygirl. You can purchase a copy of the police report then hand it over to Jeffery Feiger because most people do not commit sucide without leaving a note and they deffinetly do not commit sucide by shooting themselves in the chest. Goood luck to you.

Get the information from the police themselves. Call your local police station tell them you want to see your brothers case file, and they will probably direct you to main police archive for your district, then go there and ask to see the police file on the case. They can't keep it from you under the "freedom of information"
