Its very normal for tatooists to see a persons private um, areas. When I got the tatoo on my lower back, I had to take my pants off. The guy didn't even bat an eye. I was impressed. They're very professional.

DON'T DO IT! Just some friendly advice. I have a cross on my left boob and it is the only one out of my 10 that I regret. Why? Because of gravity! It started off the size of my pinky and 8 years later has stretched a half inch. At this rate - I will have a cross the size of the actual one that Jesus carried by the time I die!!! There are so many other places. Stop and think about it. Good Luck.

I say if you want a tat on your boob you are wanting to show it off right? If you are not what is the point. I would feel strange pulling my boob out to if i were getting a tat. Good Luck!!

no matter what u hear.... tattoos hurt!! that's part of the pleasure. u don't get a tatt to not feel pain. for me it's very theraputic. the most painful parts are over bones (ankle, spine) and on fleshy fatty parts of ur body. when a girl gets the tatt on the lower back, it hurts towards the outside of the tat, where the extra "cushion" usually forms and in the middle, at the bottom of the spine. i think the first tattoo u should get somewhere more muscular and firm. then u'll feel the pain, but atleast u'll know what more pain to expect when u get tatted elsewhere. my first 2 were on the same day, first on my thigh and then on my ankle. i cried n made him stop on my ankle (i was 15). now i got 9 tats. my other thigh, (no hurt) down my leg under my knee, (no hurt)
i got one in color under my boob, near my ribs (didn't hurt much at all, took less than 30 minutes) and a big butterfly between my boobs (which didn't hurt so much, except right in the middle of my boobs, where the flat bone is, and the tingly sensation near my nipples when the needle was on my boobs was a little intense. but WORTH it, took bout 2 hours). u'll be laying on ur back, if ur bra is open (depending on where U want the tattoo) you can always keep ur hands on ur nipples. when i got my butterfly i kept my hands on my nipples n pressed down on my boobs to TRY to relieve some of the ouch. but overall, a very enjoyable experience.
** but yes, it is defentely important to get something u really really want, that has meaning or motivation for u, and also somewhere coverable, because it is up to u how u present urself. the guy who said he doesn't hire people with tatts, i guarantee u the tatts he saw, were ugly, sloppy, gory or just plain funky. at my interviews, i show them my legs, cuz i wear skirts, n all i hear is nylons would be acceptable.
your tattoo is yours. make it yours. make it you. but don't get careless or sloppy with ur location or choices. GOOOOD LUCK !!!!! enjoy ur self if u get one !! ((also, ask the artist for a guess-timate bout how long it will take. counting down kinda makes the pain easier to take too)) xoxo -- check me out. www.inkednation.com/stoner c h i c k 4 2 1 (no spaces)
p.s. there are girls who get their "treasure box lock" pierced. and thier nipples pierced. don't worry. it's ok to be shy. but believe me, when the needle hits, u'll forget all about him SEE ing anything. ur mind will be on a different plane entirely. have fun !!

It's normal, but at the same time, you probably aren't going to be in the middle of a huge room full of people. I work at a tattoo shop as a piercer and most boob tattoos are placed in an area where you don't have to remove your bra or expose your nipple. If this tattoo goes around that area, I would just keep in mind that they are professionals, they aren't going to make faces or embarrass you in anyway. They are being paid to do their job, not to criticize your breast. They should tattoo you in a private booth where no one else will be watching. Tattoo artist and piercers see so many private areas that most of them don't even think twice about it.
Aren't you worried about your breasts sagging later in life and having a saggy, misshapen tattoo? (I don't mean it in a bad, way, but I wouldn't get a tattoo there personally, just curious why you would)

Of course its normal! This is a strange person seeing a vulnerable part of you. I have a tattoo on my right breast, and the guy was very professional about how he went about it.
I suggest wearing a button-up shirt like I did, then you only have to expose half of yourself, and bring a friend for support. Having a person in there, maybe to hold your hand or to talk to you makes it all better, and the tattoo artist usually don't mind. Good luck!!

I have two small tattoos right above my left breast. I didn't feel weird about the guy seeing me. He just had me pull my bra strap down and then he tucked a towel around the area he was working. He was very professional and cute too I might add...ha ha. Those are the two tattoos I have that hurt the least...lots of padding there! Good luck! =)

Perfectly normal. However you wont be in a room filled with other people. Depending on the exact placement of the tattoo you should be able to leave your bra on. They are professional and have seen male and females with naked bodies plenty of times. So it's nothing to worry about. Good Luck with your tattoo. :-)

Tattoo artists are like doctors...they have seen everything. I wouldn't worry about it. Get what you want. You are the one that will remember it for the rest of your life, and the artist will forget in a few hours when he has to go pierce a nipple.

I think modesty is something in our nature, or at least something taught to us. If you are getting it and want to be able to show it off, you are just going to have to get past that, won't you? If you dont think you can, try considering a different part of your body, that you feel more comfortable with... or get a diff artist, one you feel more comfortable opening up to. there are female artists out there too.
