It is very fatty and high in calories and will not eat away your stomach, it will add to it.

Okay , let's set the record straight -

1. yes there is some protein in peanut butter but it is actually an incomplete protein which needs to be combined with a carb to make a usable protein

2. There is actually more fat in a 1tbs of peanut butter than there is protein

That having been said, yes it is calorically dense (around 95 calories per tbs) but, in reality, there really is no fattening food, just too much food. Too much peanut butter just like too much of any other food is.. fattening

To the best of my knowledge, no food is capable of "eating" fat from any part of your body

Peanut butter can be good for you. Not the creamy kind you buy. It has sugar added and also they add fats like Crisco to make it creamy. Health food stores have natural peanut butter and some grocery stores have it too. I really like the taste better because it taste more like peanuts. Usually the natural peanut oil will separate and you will need to really stir it to soften it and mix the oil back in. Then refrigerate it so it will not separate again.

Get all natural peanut butter, it is better. Yes, peanuts are high in fat, but it is the "good" fat which is good for your heart and helps keep you full. It is good for your heart and can reduce cravings for unhealthy fats. Studies show that people who eat a serving (one table spoon) of peanut butter a day are more likely to eat healthy and take in less calories that day.

Natural Peanut Butter is very good for you. When you buy it check the ingredients list, it should be made from peanuts and salt and thats about it. The fat is Monounsaturated fat, one of the healthy fats we should be getting more of.

Beware of Jiff, Peter Pan and similar brands. Even though they claim no transfats in the ingredients is listed hydogenated vegetable oils, which are transfats. Thanks to labeling loop holes they don't have to claimed as such. They are also filled with sugar to sweeten the taste.

i think if you sat down an ate the jar ,that would be bad for you. i eat 2 teaspoons full every day. i've been trying to lose weight and i am , so the peanut butter hasn't stopped me from losing weight. eat everything in moderation.

and if it was going to eat the lower part of the stomach ,mine would have been gone a very long time ago.

It's very fatty...lots of oil. However, it's high in protien. If you want healthier peanutbutter make your own or go to the farmers market.

"people has told me that it eats the fat of the lower part of your stomach" - NO that is incorrect! Can we say wivestale?

It is high in fat, but all-natural peanut butter is pretty good for you in moderation. Plant protiens are some of the best things you can eat and the oil from nuts are good for your hair and skin. But moderation is key!

Peanut butter is a wonderful source of protein and is good for you. Of course anything in excess is fattening but a normal amount is fine.

Get the book, "Eat Right For Your Blood Type" to see what blood type you are. Some blood types can't eat some things. I am O-neg, & am supposed to stay away from wheats & cultivated grains...BUT, I can eat meat & chicken & fish! So, there are gives & takes.
But, if you must eat it, at least get the healthiest kind, with no added hydrogenated oils...get a grinder & make it yourself! Even better!
