ok i see all these answers that say, "abortion is murder except for in instances where theres a girl that is raped, then its ok" or "only if the mothers or childs life is endangered or the child is terminally ill is abortion ok" .now i would like the biblical justification for these conclusions. why murder is ok in the first sense but not the other sense. im not understanding why you can deem one MURDER and the other ok. (this is for biblical reasoning not moral)

You are absolutely correct. The Bible doesn't stipulate, well it's okay to kill here, but not there.
For me it is a moral issue, that will be left for God to judge.I don't want to be the one to police everybody on this issue,as a Christian,I believe it's wrong. But if that is not your Religion,or you have no Religion or beliefs, you cannot TELL,people what to do with their bodies.
And as a man,I mean no disrespect to you,but there is no way you can understand being sexually violated,by a stranger or a family member, unless it's happened to you.And still, you don't have to worry about a baby growing inside of you, that was concieved in an act of evil.As a surviver of rape,it's hard enough to TRY to put your life back together and go on,but you are never the same.Even to go through with a pregnancy for 9mos to give the child up for adoption, just prolongs the healing process. Then you will always have that on your mind that sooner or later, that child will probably come looking to know his/her birth mother. Also,it has been proven that the emotional state of the mother while pregnant, directly effects the nature of the child.I'm not making excuses,I'm just pointing out some of the things that men don't or won't take into consideration what women go through. That is why I don't believe men should have a right to dictate what a woman can do with her body.Again I mean no disrespect to you,And this is only MY belief. It is for God to judge when the time comes for us to answer.Thank you for letting me share my opinion,God bless.

P.S.There are sooo many things on an everyday basis that every single one of us does, that goes against what our Christian Bible tells us is right and wrong.Drinking,Pornography, the love of money, adultry. That it is really hard for me to understand why not just men,but women also, get stuck on abortion.I choose to spend my time TRYING to do better, and I fall short all the time. But if everyone spent a bit more time "CLEANING" up their proverbial own back yard and quit trying to police what others do,a few groups might get along better.Again,it's only MY opinion. And thanks again.

Intentional abortion is NEVER justifiable. A woman who is raped and becomes pregnant (an extremely rare occurence) is certainly in a very difficult position, and the temptation to kill that innocent little boy or girl is understandable, but it cannot be morally justified. Besides, the last thing a woman who has been violated needs is to be violated again in a way that will result in a lifetime of grief, depression and guilt.

The death of an unborn child as a direct or indirect effect of necessary medical care to save the life of the mother is justifiable, for the death of the baby is not intended. This is not abortion. It is only accepted as a regrettable but unavoidable side effect of saving the mother's life. Whenever it is possible, both lives must be saved. But a mother is not morally required to sacrifice her own life to save the life of her child, even though many women have chosen to take that risk.

I do not believe that abortion of rape concieved children is ok. I still believe this is murder and all too often used as a crutch to justify abortion legally. (only 1% of abortions are done to raped women)

Your second scenario however does need some clarifying. There are instances where if the child was allowed to continue to grow in the mother's womb it would kill the mother and therefore itself (tubal pregnancies are an example of this). In this case the choice is not life or death, but the loss of two lives vs one. I believe in these cases abortion is not considered murderous or cruel.

There is no justification for it. They are *probably* the same people who are for the death penalty. What these people could MEAN, though they aren't saying it well, is: "Abortion is murder. You're killing a human before it has a chance to defend itself. I can understand the need for legal abortions, as long as they are only used in cases of rape or incest, or when the mother's life is in danger". I see nothing wrong with that line of thought, just that there's no way to PROVE a girl was raped. I think fathers should have some say. You want Biblical justification, well, there isn't any. In Psalms it says how "You knew me when I was still in the womb. Before I was conceived you knew me." That says life is there. Killing a person for someone's gain is wrong.

One more thing: Men who rape don't usually ejaculate. They rape for the excitement of rape, not to impregnate. It is EXTREMELY rare for a rape to end with pregnancy, though it does happen. We learned about it in my college psych class.
"Often the rapist uses sex as a way to demonstrate power or control over women. In such cases, there is little that is sexually satisfying about rape to the rapist; instead, the pleasure comes from forcing someone else to be submissive." Understanding Psychology by Robert S. Feldman.

When interpreting scripture, it seems it's every man for himself. But that is not the case. Your interpretation may be different than mine, so who's right? We need an authoritative interpreter. We have one (see 1Tim3:15)!

So, despite the myriad of answers you got, why not look to the Authoritative answer; from the Church. The Church teaches that life is sacred; from conception until natural death. Any argument that is different, no matter how beautifully constructed, can only claim a difference of opinion with the Church, but with no authority.

in the Bible god spoke that he knew king David before he was born at the time of his conception. the bible considers life beginning at that time. and since the bible condems murder, having an abortion in gods eyes is destroying something that he has already given life to, therefore its committing murder. its our religious leaders of the free world, and the scientific community that have allowed or disallowed abortions based on their own views of the bible not god's view

ANSWER: What are you talking about? Of course murder is ok in some situations but not others!
EXAMPLE: If you just walk down the street shooting people, that murder is not ok.
EXAMPLE: If you walk into a dark alley and see a man raping a woman at gun point and you grab the man to save the woman but he fights against you and you get the gun away and shoot him with it, that is ok.
BOTTOM LINE: Human beings are not robots. Only computers deal in black and white answers like 1+1=2 and murder is always wrong. As humans, we need to think and use our brains in all situations to determine morality. Otherwise why not have computers act as judges in courts, since they are follow the letter of the law regardless of situation?
