How do I seperate the sound from a MPG/MPEG/AVI/WMA video file and save that sound as an MP3 file?

Which software will help me do this? Also I would need software that won't only let me copy 30 seconds or only a minute of sound because its a FREE version. Help please!

If you want to record the sound while the video is playing try Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) it's a totally free open source audio recording and editing software.

Try Record Anything: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Editors-Recorders/Record-Anything.shtml

It's a trial version, but it still allowed me to record full songs.
