I have always been nice to them, I enjoy discussing philosophy with them. Do they have a map and put red X's through my address?

Perhaps they think you are insane. They probably formed this judgement when you started being nice to them.

Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses have no affiliation with one another. A person who suggests that there is some conspiracy between the two religions for the purpose of denying him visits in his home, well that person might tend to sound somewhat paranoid.

Really, unless a householder has specifically requested that such visits cease, or if the Witnesses fear for their safety, Jehovah's Witnesses will continue to visit each home as its neighborhood is canvassed. Jehovah's Witnesses would go from house-to-house even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Papa Bear said "JWs have a more complete map of the location of nearly every house on the planet. " This is far from true. Over half the people on earth have never heard of JWs, with very few in China, India, and most Muslem countries such as Pakistan.

In many countries JW's create little maps of every block, and systematically call on every house. However, on the back of the map is a list of people that are referred to as 'do not calls'. This lists houses that contain former JWs and people that have insisted they do not want to be called on. It is possible that your house is on the list due to a previous owner, or that a JW spoke to you once and assumed you were an apostate.

I have heard Mormons say they pick houses to talk to by being guided by spirit, so randomly choose where to call.

Well, JWs have a more complete map of the location of nearly every house on the planet. Better than even the post office has. They do keep records on homes with it being visited. They generally check back every 6-12 months.

The only house(s) that Jehovah's Witnesses won't return to are those that have specifically asked us not to return, or have place a sign on the door that specificlly states no religious organizations.

What is probably happening is they are calling on your home and you are not there at those times.

Mormons I can't speak for.

I have the same problem. We used to have great conversations but then they stopped comming. Of course, I never converted either. Perhaps it has something to do with that. Or perhaps when they found out that I don't make much money...?

It's all a numbers game in the end. They invest their time only for a short time and then it's your turn. If you liked their company, go to their church. It's your move. Just don't expect them to keep investing time without getting some kind of return.

I'm a JW, and I wouldn't skip anyone's house unless there was a really good reason. Your question may give a clue to why...
We aren't there to discuss philosophy. Philosophy is man-made doctrine and musings. We are there to discus the Bible.

They miss out my house too. JWs have a persecution complex, and anybody who asks questions that they don't like about the organisation is classed as an apostate. They are prohibited from having any association with apostates, and so miss out houses to avoid this.

*** w86 3/15 p. 11 ‘Do Not Be Quickly Shaken From Your Reason’ ***

.......But the Devil and other opposers of true worship are skilled in deception. We should never forget that they stand ever ready to break our integrity if they can. Their propaganda is designed to weaken our faith, to cool our love for God, to sow doubts in our minds—yes, to make the spiritual paradise appear to be no paradise at all.........
..........The apostle Paul expressed this concern: “I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent seduced Eve by its cunning, your minds might be corrupted away from the sincerity and the chastity that are due the Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3)............
...................When a fellow human tells us, ‘Do not read this’ or, ‘Do not listen to that,’ we may be tempted to ignore his advice. But remember, in this case Jehovah is the One who tells us in his Word what to do. And what does he say about apostates? “Avoid them” (Romans 16:17, 18); “quit mixing in company with” them (1 Corinthians 5:11); and “never receive [them] into your homes or say a greeting to [them]” (2 John 9, 10). These are emphatic words, clear directions. If, out of curiosity, we were to read the literature of a known apostate, would that not be the same as inviting this enemy of true worship right into our home to sit down with us and relate his apostate ideas?.........
.........But suppose we are preaching the good news and people raise questions or objections similar to those raised by opposers? Of course, if a person is not sincere and merely wishes to argue, usually it is best to excuse ourselves and go to the next door..........

They will also miss out houses who specifically ask them not to call, but as your asking why they don't call I'll assume you haven't done this!

They don't actually have maps with X's, but people that they feel are totally fruitless will often be avoided in favor of someone who shows more promise or interest.

I'm a Baptist pastor, and Mormon missionaries live next door. We get along, but we don't discuss religion - it's kind of fruitless.
