So many Christians disagree on so many things when it comes to God and the Bible. And yet a few minutes ago a question was posted, asking what the greatest commandement of your religion is. Just about all of the Christians that answered said the same thing. "To love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And to love thy neighbor as thyself." With all the divisions out there in the world. Is this a bright light for unity?

That is The Truth of God's Word... it is The Only Light on The Path to Salvation.

As for unity... those of The True Christian Faith know The Truth... There are far more who "think" they are Christians or who falsely claim to be... than there truly are... But ALL True Christians know The Truth of God's Commandment to His people... That commandment dose not apply to non-believers... but they would do well to try to understand and follow.

Unfortunately, many 'Christian' religions do not actually follow those commandments. They go to war and kill their neighbour. The crusades are what started this whole Christians vs Muslims nonsense, and that was started by so-called Christians. The world in its current state will never be unified, even once all false religion is destroyed.

when anyone thinks of christianity the most stand out symbol anyone can think of, that is displayed at any church, that is included into most christian art and symbology is the cross. now ask a christian what this cross symbolizes and generally you will get an answer resembling its jesus's love. now knowing what i know about the psyche, and the important role that symbols are in the mechanics of the mind, its scary to realize that to christians love is to be brutal, love is stabbing a tied up man, of nailing his flesh to wood. these violent acts are considered love to them, is it any wonder to the rest of us why its the most violent religion ever concieved?

Indeed it is. I noticed the same thing myself. Sometimes when things like that happen, I forget all about the religious arguments and angry accusations of heresy you read about, and am reminded instead very vividly of exactly that light.... the light of the world. :-)

Christians can disagree with each other, and still love one another. To love someone does not mean you agree with everything they believe.

Ask them first which God they worship. And who they should be asking help and advice from. And who they should be letting into their "hearts", Jesus (pbuh) or God. Or who loves them, Jesus (pbuh)or God? Then I can answer your question.
