No, it is not better to drink while you are eating. If you drink while eating the beverage or whatever you are drinking will wash away your natural digestives that are in your mouth. It also may cause indigestion.

There is some research that shows that drinking water while eating will dilute your digestive enzymes thus inhibiting digestion. I cannot remember where I read it, so take it with a grain of salt.
Thirst often masquerades as hunger so drinking before hand couldn't hurt. When you drink water is not as important is THAT you drink water.
Water will help with:
1. endocrine and gland function improves
2. Liver function improves - you will increase the % of fat used for energy purposes
3. Appetite decreases (thirst is often mistaken for hunger)
4. Metabolic Functions improve (because you are ridding your body of waste materials)
5. Fluid retention is alleviated.
The bare minimum water consumption is 64 oz BUT, according to the National Academy of sports medicine, on average an individual should drink around 96 oz and Individuals participating in a fat loss program should drink an additional 3 oz for every pound that they want to lose

If you are on a sensible diet already, then unless you are eating something easy to choke on, I would save the drink until after your meal. I started dieting a good while back and there is nothing like a tall drink to finish off any meal. Once you finish your meal and are satisfied, adding something else to my stomach like water or another drink makes me feel full and I am totally satisfied, partly because it is psychological.

Both ways are correct. I usually drink water with my meal and after wards. Most people usually eats the meal first, and then drink and some drink during and after the meals.

As long as you are eating healthily, I see no reason why you should time your drinks around your meals.
You should have drinks with your meals anyway, because it's good to wash the food down in my experience - regardless of it filling you up or not.

I would think it would be better to drink while you eat to help fill you up and to also keep things moist--I drink the whole time I eat

I've always heard better to drink before. That way you are fuller and don't eat as much.

Before and after if you want to improve digestion, but you drink before, during, and after if you want to feel fuller faster and eat less.

I think u should drink it after because it helps to digest your food and it also gives you something refreshing to wash your food down with.
