I could probably list dozens of decorating pet peeves for you, but here are just a few:

1) Things that were intended to be symmetrical but weren't quite made that way -- like windows that leave a foot more wall space on one side than on the other.

2) Colour schemes that are completely neutral and have nothing added for strong visual interest.

3) Bed frames that make it difficult to neatly tuck the bedding in.

4) Items that cannot be washed easily and inexpensively.

5) Wall paper on the ceiling.

6) Poor maintenance of materials, like granite that has lost its shine, hardwood that looks worn out...

And lots more too.

i guess this isn't really a pet peeve, but i really get frustrated while decorating. i get overwhelmed easily. we just moved into a new house, and i am lost, looking at these blank walls.

When people use 2 1/4 door and window casing for their baseboards. That is a true sign of a cheapskate.

Paneled walls - - you know, the kind you see in those houses made in the 1970s, that makes it look like a ski lodge instead of a living room!

anything that looks 80s ish. Teal, mirrored pictures, fake fantasy looking flowers that don't exist in the real world. I even sound like I'm making it up!

When people hang their pictures too high on the wall. All pictures should be hung at eye level.

rooms that have too much in them....to much clutter, too big of furniture...entertainment centers or t.v.s that are way too big for the room. I perfer a clean lined somewhat minimalist type of decor.
