Please go to a pet store and ask for the samples of dog food. Introduce all new foods at once in tiny quantities and let your dog chose what tastes best. Remove other samples and let your dog enjoy the chosen food only. Serve it in small quantities, over the weekend. If no adverse reaction occurs, you or rather your dog found the right food. Good luck!

Solid Gold Dog food.

You can't buy it at the grocery, walmart or petsmart but they have a lot of dealers all over. Here is their website so you can rad about the varieties and find a dealer.

More expensive per pound than Iam but you feed less because it is so concentrated that it works out about the same in cost.

Talk to their nutritionist about the best choice for your dog.

It is a huge favorite of super-serious breeders and dog show people.

My one turned his nose up at Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet (and don't even go there on junk like Purinia) and he adores this.

They make a cat food and I feed the dry. My two cats walk away from proffered helpings of the most expensive canned food out there - and want their dry Solid Gold cat food. Period.

Well I myself have a picky medium sized dog I just recently rescued from the pound, I tried mixing one cup Iams dry food, 1/3 can wet mixing it together thoroughly and adding a little warm water to blend it well. He won't eat just dry food but he'll eat it if its camoflauged by wet haha. Just make sure you invest in a toothbrush and doggy toothpaste for wet food can really do a number on pooches teeth. Other than that Riley is happy with his meals and his brushing time. :] Best of luck! Hope this helped!

Oh and about the tartar scraping needed as the person above mentioned, thats a very good point. You can go to your local walmart or petco if they have one where you are and get dental chews and they will help lots with the tartar build up!

Whatever food you use, put a little cheese on top & slightly melt it--just enough to get the dog started eating. You can also try using tiny bit of table food the dog likes just to get the dog started--they usually continue to eat once they start.

I say feed the highest quality food you can afford and works for your dogs. We feed our dogs Pedigree because it's what we are able to afford and it works for them. They are happy healthy dogs.

Some people's dogs can't handle Pedigree, just like our dogs actually did horrible on Eukaneuba. We kept our dogs on Eukaneuba over 2 months, they got the runs at least once a week and they looked miserable, went back to Pedigree and in a months time the runs stopped and they looked much happier.

Just make sure that you gradually change your dog's diet over. You don't want to do it all at once.

Occasionally my dogs will get tired of their food. When this happens I do one of several things. I fix their dry food as usual, run hot tap water over it and pour the water off. Or, I make some chicken or beef broth and pour it over the dry food and pour it off. Or, I'll take a tablespoon or so of canned food and stir it in. It usually works and after a couple of days they go back to dry food.

Just put a little Olive Oil in the dog food and your picky eater will eat any dog food.

I buy a brand called Performatrin from Pet Valu. It is a high quality dog food and my two very picky wolfdogs love it. Make sure of any food that you buy that REAL MEAT and NOT CORN is the first ingredient listed on the label. Dog Chow and Pedigree Pal and those type of brands are GARBAGE. They are corn filler and not good at all for your dog. Good Luck!

i dont use wet foot, it can cause loose stools. i like nutro max food..go to www.nutro.com it has no by products its just meals..which is good, its not the left overs. and its very good for the dogs. also, if you buy from a place like petsmart, if they dont like it you can return the bag, opened or not, for your full money back. and try something else, just dont forget to gradually switch the food over. 80/20 60/40 50/50 40/60 etc...

Purina is agood one for dogs the main thing you dont want to do is but dog food brands that are cheap and full of dyes. it is not good for the dog. and if you can get the dog to eat iams. that is good for them too but if your dog is picky, I suggest asking for a sample first at the pet store or the vet. dogs that are picky may not eat that particular brand. try out the samples. hope this helps, good luck to you.
