it sounds like you may be being a little to easy on her. i am almost positive that her vomiting her food is an act. the best thing to do is not give her junk food anymore, none at all until she starts eating healthier food. when she says shes hungry give her something healty to eat and if she vomits it up dont make a big deal out of it, just ignore it if you can. if she still says shes hungry after that, offer more healthy food. if she throws the food, she needs a consequence, shes 7 yrs old, she knows thats wrong. be more strict on her.

Her body could be very intolerant to healthy food right now. She could also have an allergy to something she is eating. This could also just be a "stunt" to get her own way. Kids are very smart and learn how to "work" their parents to get what they want.

I would take her to the doctor and figure out what you need to do to help her eat more healthy. You might have to see a nutritionist to help your daughter learn what foods she should eat and what foods she likes. You also might want to have her tested for allergies to be on the safe side.

You might not be able to buy junk foods and have them in the house for a while...until she gets used to not eating junk all the time.

Just remember, it takes about 2 weeks to form a new habit and that you replace one habit with a new one. It might be difficult, but the pay off is worth it!

Take all the junk food out of the house. Even the sugary cereals!! Make her breakfast. Give her time to eat it. If enough time has passed and she hasn't started to eat, throw it out. Excuse her from the table. Do the same thing with lunch and dinner. She will not get a nutrient deficiency after one day- but she will get *hungry.* Do not allow her to fill up on liquids either- water only! Seriously, it will take one day. Be strong! Did wonders for my two year old. He now eats everything I put in front of him when he only used to eat yogurt and apple juice.

The easiest fix is throw away what you have left so she can't eat it and then don't buy any more junk food. If she doesn't like what you've made, then she doesn't have to eat. Eventually she'll get hungry and eat what you have made.

The only problem is that she'll still be able to go to school and get junk food. Don't know a way around that, though. Sorry...

Best of luck to you!

Take her to the pediatrician for a check-up. If there is nothing wrong with her digestive system, do not give in to her blackmail. Let her vomit and make her clean it up. The same thing goes for thrown food. If you let her get away with this behavior, can you imagine what she'll be like as a teen? Be firm. Watch the nanny 911 show for tips.

vomits?! That is serious whether it is a behavior issue or a physiological one. I'd take her to her pediatrician at once. It sounds like a behavior problem that may require some therapy. You daughter cannot survive on junk food. It will take a toll on her growing body. She has to learn to eat her meals. For now, I'd clean out all the junk food in the house and lay off all snacks between meals. Cook some plain foods like broiled chicken, rice and cut fruit. Give her milk to drink.

I would take her to the doctor and talk about it. She may need some counselling if she is making herself vomit. In the meantime, I wouldn't buy any junk food or keep it in the house. She will eventually get hungry and eat.

Wow!! When my 7 year old tested me about dinner for the first (and last ) time, I was very severe. She dumped out a whole bowl of vegetable beef soup to pretend she spilled it so she could be done. I gave her another bowl and made her sit there until she ate the entire bowl. She has never done it ever again. If you allow your child to be in charge, she will get her way. Be the mom! Make her sit there. If she throws it, smack her! That is outrageous and completely unacceptable, and incredibly disrespectful to you, as a mother who has put food on the table for her. Be strong, and let her know how much you love her.

It's in the taste buds at that age. Kids like sugary processed foods, I think it is because they crave things that have a lot of energy because they are growing. You can probably disguise healthy food as junk food by adding cheese whiz or serving her homemade hamburgers. She might have psychosomatic vomiting. There are some good books on children's nutrition and getting picky eaters to eat. My mom used to pour orange soda over pineapple chunks as a healthy alternative to dessert.
