For film, you could go from about 95 (adjust your times) to Ice cold to get the negative to reticulate.

With paper, I just experiment with very hot developers and again Ice cold wash. The difference in the temps will determine the mount of reticulation that you get.

Caution: When attempting reticulation be VERY gentle with your mediums. The silver can literally lift from your base and slide off. Experimentation is called for here.

It has been a long time since I have played with this technique, good luck.

If you can make sure they hypo used to fix the film image is a non hardening hypo. The hardener hardens the emulsion making reticulation more difficult. I have had success soaking film in hypo eliminator before the hot water bath. What you want to do is be sure the emulsion has softened and swelled and then plunge it into cold water. It is largely trial and error on temparatures and times, but I have gotten pretty good reaults with 100 degrees F. and then after several minutes go to ice water (32 degrees F). Then harden the emulsion with a hardening fix, do not use the hypo eliminator and wash for at least 30 minutes.
