THere is this girl that I like and it seemed that she liked me. I saw some signs so I asked her out. I was so confident that she would say yes but I was wrong. It turns out that her mom does not like her dating black guys. I was so mad but I really like her still. She used to give me hugs but now she doesnt even say hi to me in the halls. What do I do to get her off of my mind and how can I move on? This is really important to me because I think about her constantly. Please help!

Her mother said something to make her change her mind. That part isn't your fault none of it is. Dont blame yourself. Her mom is a racist. and you dont want to get involved with that.

Unfortunately this is one of the side effects of inter-racial dating. Getting approval from the family can be very difficult. Maybe you should pick another girl to like whose family won't descriminate and will appreciate you for the person you are not the color of your skin.

Honestly... There isn't nothing that can really get her off your mind... except to rebound and find someone else... most rebounds don't work from my experience and end up hurting the person you rebounded to. It's your choice... You can wait to see if this feeling for this girl you like passes... or you can sit at home and suffer 24/7 thinking about them... or you can attempt to move on with someone else...but take it slow so they don't end up your rebound girl. Goodluck.

Her mother has told her not to, so she won't. I believe that she is keeping her distance so as not to give you the wrong impression that she likes you as much as you like her. Keep it friends and move on, not as easy as it sounds, but best thing to do.

There is not much you can do. You have to move on
