Oh man that's tough. Im not too fond of the idea of my bf having one but if he really wanted it that bad, which it sounds like you do, Id let him get it if he promised to be good and not do anything stupid on it. Keep begging her, do some serious a s s kissing. Oh and just to warn you insurance for one is not cheap at all.

I will tell you honestly, I was super mad when my ex bought his bike, but it had nothing to do with the bike itself...

I was truly hoping we had a future together (not a fling, this was a 4 year relationship). And of course part of that means working together for shared goals, for me that includes getting out of debt, someday buying a house, etc. Buying the bike was just putting him further in debt than he already was, and basically saying to me that we do NOT share common goals, and he will NOT consider my opinion if he wants to do something he will not be talked out of it.

So anyway, a lot depends on who/what "she" is to you, which you didn't say. Is "she" more of a casual girlfriend, a serious girlfriend, fiancee, wife? Also do you know WHY she objects to you buying this particular bike at this particular point in time? She may have a good reason that you might be wise to consider, if you can see past your "I really want" :)

Are we supposed to be mind readers? Who is "she"? Your girlfriend, your wife, your lover, your sister, your Mom??? What?

If you want the bike the buy it (with your money) as long as it doesn't negatively effect any financial situation the two of you may be in together...if you haven't taken an MSF basic riding course, make sure you do so before you start riding on your own...

Perhaps "she" will become interested in bikes with you...but bottom line is you have to live your life for you, not someone else...have respect for a committed/long-term partner's feelings...but in the end you have to do what's right for you...

Becuz she doesn't want you to end up dead or braindead !!!! You already knew the answer to this question, but seriously -- go to your search engine and look up motorcycle fatalities or motorcycles vs car fatalities, also look up serious brain injuries involving motor cycles.
I knew a handsome young man many many years ago, he had his whole future ahead of him, we lived in a small town with no traffic to speak of, he STILL ended up BRAIN-DEAD !!! That was 40 years ago, his parents are dead now, he has no one in this world left to care about him & he's in a state hospital in diapers, someone has to change him, feed him, etc. He was 16 then, he's 56 now and HE HAD -- N O -- LIFE !!!! Listen to this woman WHO LOVES YOU !!!!

She's a smart girl. I won't let my husband get one, either. I love him, and it's very hard to identify greasy spots on interstates!!! Bugs, brains, who can tell? Seriously, listen to her. It could be that she loves you.
