i don't think there is a 'correct' answer to this. i suppose if you have a high op pinion of yourself and know that you have a lot of family and friends that depend on you and/or are extremely close to you, than you might think that the loss of yourself in this world is worse. however many people who actually DO commit suicide think the world will be better off without them.
if you take the life of another you are being selfish in the sense that you are taking them away from those who they love when they did not want it or ask for it. you are leaving others to cope with the loss of the person you kill when that person expected to continue living.

They are both done by people who are not 100% right in the mind. So who can tell what is worse. there are reprecussions on both for the people left behind and the authorities who have to deal with it and clean it up, for any monies or proprty and valuables left behind. the biggest difference would be the insurance companies I think that they wouldn't pay out if it were a suicide.
there would be the guilt if ever the person came to their senses of what had happened for a homacide. I should think that in God's eyes both would not be right in the head so He may even forgive such acts.
i should think that deep down every one gets to thinking about such things but most never do because they override such feelings and thoughts. life is however worth the living but one had to look upwards and outwards rather than inwards and near. God made a wonderful world and the people in it are not that bad once you get to know them. So start to enjoy your life do somethings that you enjoy and live to the fullest as best that you can. Help others they are worth it.

Homicide is worse. In suicide one life ends. In homicide one life ends and the other may continue but is utterly destroyed. Think about it, you'll be caught and spend the rest of your life in prison. Your life is essentially over and you ended someone else's. So you destroyed 2 lives instead of one.
From a mental health standpoint, its unhealthy to ponder either but suicide is considered worse because 1) you're more likely to actually go through with it and 2) the suicidal person has given up and gone into deep depression while the homicidal person is still fighting it and may only have mild depression and a lot of anger which is fairly normal. We've all had the desire to kill others but most of us have enough morals to never do it. Just thinking about it, briefly without intent to follow through is considered fairly normal but suicide never is.

It really angers me that someone would think suicide is worse than homicide. Homicide may be more understandable, but with killing someone else you are taking away someone else's choice to live. You have taken someone else's life.
I've always thought that suicide was a matter of choice. It's probably not a good choice, but I really think an individual has a right to take their life if they really don't want to exist. Especially in cases where the person is very ill and could/will die very soon anyway and is in a lot of pain. With suicide, you are NOT jeopardizing someone elses choice in life. In homicide, you violate them.
I've considered both as well, and I believe both are certainly not good choices, but I really think homicide is by far the worst.

Well... in terms of legality, homocide is the one that'll send you to prison. In terms of morality, that depends on your religious viewpoint. I was raised to believe that both will keep you out of Heaven. To look at it from a human rights standpoint - when you commit suicide, you are deciding what to do with your life. When you commit homocide, you have just taken that decision away from the other person. So, from that standpoint, homocide is worse. I would suggest, though, that if you do have a 'strong urge to kill', you should seek some sort of help right now. Best to nip that urge in the bud before you act on it and find yourself being someone's girlfriend in prison (or worse, facing the death penalty).

Worse for Who?
For Society, Homicide is worse than Suicide.
For you, Suicide is worse than homicide.
Society cares less about you killing yourself than some other random person.
SO who are you trying to please? yourself or Society?
I'd guess the urge to kill is an attempt to please yourself, and the urge to commit suicide is an attempt to please society.
People worry when you say you're going to kill someone, because they realize you might actually do it, and they don't know if they are going to be one of your targets.
People don't worry so much when you say you're going to kill yourself because they know you probably don't have the nerve to actually do it - and they know that if you'd just off yourself you'd be one less person the rest of us must compete with for food, a mate, a home, a job....
It sounds like you need some serious therapy. Killing anyone including yourself is bad and there is no Degrees to it, it's not like one is worse than the other, they're both bad. You need to focus on other urges and don't analyze the killing/suicide urges.

Homicide is worse, when someone kills you your body gets discovered, people look at it study it, than cut it open and look for clues. Then you get sewn back up and given to your relatives. Then get buried. Get on the news for a day, and get someone arrested for murder.
Suicide you save time and alot of nonsense, you leave a note call all the people you love before you go and go in a peaceful way, the cops come read the note and you go staright to the funeral home, and everyone comes to pay their respects.
Life is good don't think of ways to end it thionk of ways to start it over, thats what makes it fun.

I think homocide, since you are taking someone else's life when it wasn't their decision to die. Suicide is a personal decision. I don't agree that it's always the right decision, but it is the person's person choice.
Taking away someone's right to choose (such as in homocide, not as in assisted suicide...this is a whole other answer) is, in my opinion, showing total disrespect to other people.
If you are really considering killing yourself or others, I suggest that you GET HELP NOW. Don't wait, go to your local emerg and tell the nurse what's going on.

I think its sick to think taking ones own life is worse than taking someone elses. You wouldnt think that way if a suicidal person was about to kill you.
