I can't stop eating, if I don't eat something small ever two hours, I start shaking really badly, I don't have a lot of time, and I really can't afford to join a gym. I have a 2 year old, and have to keep up my house, any ideas? I used to be in great shape, rode a bike about 25-30 miles during the week and about 40-45 miles during the weekend, i really miss that, just don't have the time. I haven't lost any weight from pregnancy but six pounds.

First sentence is probably bad, I don't want to be told to just stop eating, because I can't for health reasons, I do eat healthy.

wow, you are a busy girl!! well, since you eat healthy and seem to get low blood sugar i will not suggest eating less, but i would suggest you see a doctor. maybe you already have, but if you are gaining weight from how much you eat you might be eating too much or eating too much of one thing. a doctor might be able to help you work out a way to get rid of the shakes you get. drink lots of water, which may be able to fill you up more. also, your skin will look better and your body will function better with the extra fluids.
since you cannot afford a gym membership (i know what that's like) take walks instead. you can bring your child along with you and get some fresh air. for indoor activities buy a fitness magazine or check online for sets of exercises you can do a home a few times a week. fitness tapes are great too. you can get dancey aerobic DVDs which are fun or kick boxing and other fun exercises. Pilates is one of my favorite things to do. it improves posture and tightens up the tummy and butt quickly. don't get intimidated...there are fitness DVDs out there for every level. Denise Austin is a popular one. some tapes are half an hour to an hour. even if you can't fit in a tape or something, try to take walks as much as possible or a run and even taking 5 mintures to do some lunges and sit ups will help.
good luck!!!

First, have you had a checkup and explained to your doctor that if you don't eat something every two hours you start shaking? I am wondering whether something might be wrong with your insulin levels. If everything checks out OK, then try to start working more excercise into your day. Even the little things, like parking further away from the store. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator. When I'm doing work around the house I do a little bit upstairs, then I go do something downstairs, and back and forth every 10 minutes or so. Oh, and I tend to run around the house too. Heh, you could also turn down your thermostat - when you're cold, you will burn calories just keeping warm! And it encourages me to move around more and move faster when it's chilly in my house!

First of all, get a checkup. Get checked for thyroid disease and diabetes. Then get evaluated for mental health isues such as depression, which can lead to an eating disorder. Weight watchers is an excellent program that doesn't place you on a diet, but rather teaches "portion control". The main problem with weight loss is that people are inpatient. If you set a goal of losing 2 lbs/mo, that'll be 24 lbs at the end of a year. Many people try to lose too much weight too fast, only to end up frustrated when they don't meet their goals. Also, portion control must be continued for years in order to keep the weight off.
Another thing that people are in denial about is the food we eat. Unfortunately, our cattle is injected with hormones and antibiotics, and many of our products are processed. If you can afford it, eat organic meats and avoid processed foods. Especially anything made with "partly hydrogenated oil" or what we affectionately call "Trans Fats". This ingredient is evil and increases the incidence of heart disease. There is no reason trying to lose weight if you're going to die prematurely of a heart attack...

Babe, if you can afford it get a treadmill and use it for about 30-45 minutes a day or every other day. I lost 25 pounds in less than 2 weeks just from running and eating a healthy diet. As far as eating, just eat healthy foods, go easy on the fats and carbs. Loosing weight is not a difficult thing, it justs takes eating right, excercise and discipline. Remember, in order to loose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume on a daily basis, and this can be achieved my simply eating less food, sugars, carbs, fats, and some form of exercise. Hope this helps.

as long as you are eating small healthy things the eating every 2 hours I think is ok but would see the doc about the shakes, that doesn't sound good. a good diet to lose weight is eat only baked or grilled foods like chicken breast (boneless & skinless) & eat salads you can have alittle bit of dressing on it to give it flavor, can have eggs but no yolks, not even cooked, & you have to exercise also or neither one will work the diet or the exercise they have to be done together, even if you don't have time to exercise, do like 10-15 minutes in the morning & 10-15 minutes in the evening before bed or while you are watching tv ,you said you like bike rididng you could get a seat for the back of your bike & put your little one on that for your bike rides. get the cindy crawford exercise tape.

I have a 14 mo. old and weight about the same, so I can relate. If you can't stop eating, then eat healthy.... bottled water (Propel is good if you need flavor), diet soda, pretzels, rice cakes, fruit, fresh veggies, sugar-free sweets (there's some good cookies and chocolates out there) etc.
Take walks or run around outside or at the park with your two year old. Any exercise that you can get, while caring for your toddler, is wonderful for you!

See a doctor as to why you need to eat every two hours to keep the shakes away.
You can ride a bike with a two year old on behind, or walk and push her in a stroller. Your health is more important than a clean house.

I don't know what you normally eat, but try an apple or banana instead of something like chips. Try taking your child on a walk or bike ride during the evening, every day. I'm afraid there are no 'easy' ways, but there are stressless and simple ways. Good luck, I wish you well!

The shaking makes me think you might have something going on with your blood sugar levels. Have you ever been tested for Type II Diabetes? It can make it hard to stay in shape because you feel the need to eat all the time.

Since you can't cut back on food, you need to move more...
Walk, ride your bike (weather permitting,) get some cardio going on. I wouldn't hurt to start a weight resistance program as well.
I'm not saying to bulk up, just tone and build a little more muscle.
Muscle burns calories faster than excess weight (fat).
Best wishes!
