Teflon is inert, and is used on many implanted medical replacement joints to protect it. You can kills birds with teflon coated products when they are heated to high temperatures, and you can get flu-like symptoms from it yourself.

Cooking in cookwarte coated with it is fine at temperatures less than 450 degrees. If they get scratched and start flaking, I would throw them away as Teflon is a carcinogen (causes cancer) if ingested.

It can supposedly cause cancer cuz it gets scrapped off of pans and gets into food. People are supposed to use only plastic utensils when cooking with Teflon.
