Oh, but I am dead, because time is not linear and everything is happening simultaneously, so I am both forever dead and forever living.
Not to mention that reincarnation thing.

I can think, speak and laugh, identify the people that I love. To me, being brain-dead would be worse than having your whole body die. You'd just be a shell with your soul trapped inside your body, waiting to see what the after-life was like.

I still have a body soul and spirit. When the spirit leaves the body it dies and the soul returns to God who gave it. 2 Corinthians 5: 6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 2 Corinthians 5: 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

I was dead before I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart and life. Now I have a new lease on life with a new purpose.

I am greatful for my headache caused by my daughter's screaming, because it lets me know I am alive.
I am glad to be freezing my butt off, in all the snow we got, because it lets me know I'm alive.

God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so very much,
that even while we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's special favor that you have been saved!)
For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms--all because we are one with Christ Jesus.

Heart still beating,
Lungs still breathing,
Stomach full with hamburger and chips,
Body still warm (98.6 ish)
and
I'M STILL AVOIDING MY HOUSEWORK BY CHATTING ON THE 'PUTER.
Yup. I'm still alive.
