NO God makes no MISTAKES

2006-10-18 06:29:25 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 2 2

Well, first of all, being made in the image of God does not mean that our physical bodies look like Him. It means that we were also created to be spiritual beings, with souls that distinguish right and wrong, conscious of ourselves and able to relate with God as a friend. This is the part of us that longs to be in relationship and connected to Someone higher than ourselves.
Second, in the Hebrew custom, circumcision was a sign of the covenant between God and Man. It wasn't to "fix" a mistake, but to remind the people of the promise God made to them.
Nowadays people circumcise boys because its alot easier to keep clean, prevents infections. You can keep the penis clean, but it involves a lot of stretching and moving the skin around and its kind of sensitive so guys don't like to do that (babysat an uncircumcised baby once. Diaper changing was a strange experience.) Most guys nowadays are circumcised, from what I understand.
God didn't make a mistake. He's not into that sort of thing. Hope that helps clear things up. :-)

Circumcision was initially a mark on children the symbolizes the removal of sin by parents being God's people. The sacrament was replaced by baptism. Being washed clean of sin. So there is no need to circumcise. In fact it is considered a cosmetic procedure, now. There is not really any other reason for circumcision. I personally did not circumcise my boys as I believe it (foreskin) has a purpose. As long as it is kept clean. There has been no trouble with it. Have a great day.

A) The image of God that is man has NOTHING to do with the body. It is our soul, our mind, our will that is in His image. NOT THE FLESH.

B) Circumcision was intended to be a sign and seal of the covenant between God and Abraham - I shall be your God and you shall be My people.

C) If God DID make a mistake, then He would not, BY DEFINITION, be God! For God is that than which nothing can be greater. Obviously, anyone who can make a mistake is less than someone who cannot make a mistake. Therefore, anyone who cannot make a mistake is God. Therefore God is God and He made no mistakes! Not even when He created those who ask silly, childish questions.

This assumes man was made in the Physical image of God, as opposed to the Spiritual image of God.

Technically, circumcision is required for Jews, optional for Christians.

We had our son circumcised because of sanitary reasons. Infants without circumcision have higher rates of yeast and other infections.

Circumcision is an Old Testament ritual, and as such, it is done to drive a point home. At the time God told Abraham to circumsize himself and his tribe, Ishmael (Abraham's son by his Egyptian slave, Hagar) was 14 years old and Isaac (Abraham's son by Sara, his wife) was 8 days old (the time God prescribed for Israelite circumcision).
The Egyptians at the time circumsized their male children at 14 years of age. So when circumcision began it symbolized who was the proper heir to Abarham; Isaac, who was circumcized at the right time (as opposed to Ishmael who was an Egyptian and son of a slave woman).
So actually, circumcision is a sign of Abraham's mistake in begetting offspring by Hagar, than anything God did.
Circumcision was understood as a sign that one was part of the chosen people, the descendents of Abraham, and therefore part of the people with whom God made a covenant. Granted, other peoples where circumsized, but in the case of the Jews, circumcision was a mark that one was an Israelite.

Well, what about Abraham? We have been saying he was declared righteous by God because of his faith.
But how did his faith help him? Was he declared righteous only after he had been circumcised, or was it before he was circumcised? The answer is that God accepted him first, and then he was circumcised later!

The circumcision ceremony was a sign that Abraham already had faith and that God had already accepted him and declared him to be righteous--even before he was circumcised.

So Abraham is the spiritual father of those who have faith but have not been circumcised. They are made right with God by faith. And Abraham is also the spiritual father of those who have been circumcised, but only if they have the same kind of faith Abraham had before he was circumcised.
It is clear, then, that God's promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was not based on obedience to God's law, but on the new relationship with God that comes by faith.
So if you claim that God's promise is for those who obey God's law and think they are "good enough" in God's sight, then you are saying that faith is useless. And in that case, the promise is also meaningless.
But the law brings punishment on those who try to obey it. (The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break!)
So that's why faith is the key! God's promise is given to us as a free gift. And we are certain to receive it, whether or not we follow Jewish customs, if we have faith like Abraham's. For Abraham is the father of all who believe.

Great Question! I had 6 boys, none of which I had circumcised. If you think about it, when someone dyes their hair or gets a boob job, isn't that saying you don't like how God has made you? God doesn't make mistakes, man does.

The if part of the question is invalid. It was Man who made God in Mans own exaggerated image. For years he used god as a trash can where he threw in everything that he didn’t understand, like volcanoes, like lightening. Then science reached into that file 13 about 500 years ago and started uncovering the god scam. Man invented male and female circumcising and both are universal crimes against the body – not just crimes on earth but crime universally. Mutilation of men and women is a crime. Cutting off feet and hands is evil Islam. Cutting hair is evil brain numbing Christianity. Cutting foreskin and clitoris is Jew and Muslim freak crimes in that order. Mutilation of children is a crime. Excuses are evil. If the criminals would just shut up and you could go into your silent spaces with your truth you will see I am right. If you can wipe out the media, educational and religions cults of the world bombing your frail brains then you could see the inhumanity of it right away. God never existed of else these crimes are his fault, but they are not, they are ancient evil and diluted men who now are followed by their evil descendent and all other people made stupid by the torture of religious teaching before they come of the age of rational thought. The dead men of the past who created religion should be shot, dug up, exposed as control freak frauds they are including the crime of taking a knife to any part of a baby. Males who have penis mutilation have a lower IQ and are more controllable which is good for the crimes of mental slavery and keeping them believing in non-existent evil murderous gods made by man. Some are cut so short that they go through all of life never knowing any satisfaction. We sure know how to manipulate the boys to turn them into killers don’t we, cut hair, cut bodies. Hell, lets go out and cut on everyone then right. End Religion before it Ends YOU.

That image of God in man is only spiritual.
God does not have a penis, so he doesn't need to be circumcised.
Circumcision may have nothing to do with God; it's all old Jewish tradition; but circumcision may have some health values to men.

Circumcision was an outward sign that was meant to separated the followers of God from the rest of the world. Then just as is now not everyone that was of Abraham's seed followed God.Today Jesus separates us and there should be something that tells the world we follow Jesus.Sad to say for to many you can't tell that they even know Jesus except when it's convenient or when their at church.
