Please... I apologize for the subject. I would like to receive serious answers only. Of course my question is very, very horrible and extremely theoretical in nature, but:

I have been thinking about what happens to people who haven't heard of Jesus. I understand that according to Christian teaching, if babies die unbaptized they are supposed to go to heaven, especially now that the Catholic Church has revised its vision of the Limbo.

All Christian people are supposed to spread the word of Jesus and thus give everyone a personal choice. However, many people eventually choose wrong. To prevent this, isn't it better to commit sin by not spreading the faith? Or what about most horrible of sins, killing a baby in order to make sure that she cannot make the wrong choice in the future? Again, this would be a huge sin and the killer would go to hell for sure, but the purpose would to sacrifice yourself to help others.

(Whatever you think, please do no kill anybody. Ever. Really!)

Well, from a Catholic point of view, maybe. Since the only thing that matters to them is the afterlife, apparently. That's one more reason to believe all religions are evil.

This is a big question. This answer is an opinion only and I speak for myself but MEN made those laws you are referring to- not God. Esp. the Catholic Church, which, though there are many wonderful people belonging to it, has a horrible history of misuse, torture, persecution and misjustice along with a good wish to control its members (yes, so do other religions too) Don't you think this is a good way to control and scare you? God is perfect good- he doesn't judge by religion, race, age, gender or creed. How could he? We are here to grow spiritually in a sometimes difficult and hard world, but are given the CHOICE (which sets us apart from the animals) to do just that. Babies are not born in sin- REALLY! How could they be? THATS a CROCK! They are perfect, sinless loving open beings who are a gift- sometimes due to the physical world they are haunted by upbringing, poverty or disorders but it doesn't change the fact that they are born without a "record" of sin. I feel that we choose our circumstance, our families, our lives to progess our spiritual growth or to help others with theirs- we may not remember when we are here but it makes sense to me. Any religion that helps you and isn't violent or harmful to others is a good religion- its a personal choice- or should be. Don't believe or feel something is true because you've had it thrown at you. Read and take in EVERYTHING- then decide what you believe. Killing anyone for any reason can be wrong, though I do believe in horrible circumstances, mercy killing is justified-though not what you are saying. All your answers lie inside, read the bible for yourself- and anything else you can get your hands on- its a teaching book not the only book- just one of the most wonderful!

I think if your basing your belief system on what the Catholic church revised, you're in for some big surprises. What happens in the afterlife is not something those morons can "revise". Afterlife is what it is, regardless of what some religion says. We don't know what is in the afterlife and won't know until we die. Many people have interpretations of scriptures in the Bible, who is to say Heaven and Hell aren't misunderstood as well. Be a good person, don't push your religion on to anyone who doesn't want to hear it, and worry about the rest later.

God has made a plan for every baby, child, and adult to go to Heaven. That way is Jesus.

Rather than commit the sin of murder, tell people about Him. Bring up that baby to know and love the Lord.

God says that the reason that we are put here and are alive is for His pleasure. That means that He wants us to live so that we can be loved by Him and love back.

The answer to the problem is Jesus, not murder. Jesus came to give us abundant life. Jesus is the sacrifice.

I believe that this is what that Yates woman believed when she drowned he 5 young children. She said that she was doing this to save their souls. But it also states in the bible, that God has given man a choice. He separated us from the animals by giving us a conscience, reason and problem solving skills. I believe that somewhere in the bible, it says that the age of accountability is 13? But it says nowhere in that bible that we are to play God and take matters into our own hands, and kill his devine creatures to ensure their placement in heaven. The mentally ill, or not, can twist or contort the bible and it's meaning to fit whatever their motives for doing things is. And oddly enough, try to make it justify their actions! Very creepy.....but baptism is only an outward ritual of an inward belief. It is a public display for the congregation to see that you are instilling the beliefs of the church in your child, and having the church aid in the spiritual up bringing of that child. It is actually a very interesting question, but if taken out of context can be quite dangerous.

I have been "Christened" once, and baptized in three different sects. Taught Sunday school for 2 years in a Baptist Church. I have been to several other faiths including bible readings in a home where the little old lady (who chewed tobacco and carried a tomato can with her around the house), she didn't believe in any of the churches but visited the sick, poor and prisons. I am now a Catholic and believe so strongly that "Thou Shalt Not Kill" it is "Unthinkable" to make decisions about life and death for those who are unable to do so for themselves!

All your reasonings are accurate IF the original premise was correct.
However, it is not a Christian teaching that unbaptized babies go to heaven.
Nobody goes to heaven.
Psalm 115:16
Psalm 37:29

Odd E., I'm reeeeeeeeeallly glad you qualified that statement. I was really going to let you have it for this one!

This proposition only works in cold, hard mathematics, NOT in the life guided by faith in Christ. Jesus wants ALL people to be saved. Killing others for ANY reason (short of capital crimes, a different topic altogether) is strictly forbidden.

Those who claim to work for God, must do the things ordered by God. Killing innocents "for their own good" is never Godly, no matter how much whitewash is applied to the action.

It is NEVER better to sin. never never never.

God made a purpose for every He created, I don't think he would put a person to kill a baby just to go to heaven. As we became weak in faith , we do things that leads us to sin, but He is always waiting for our repentance and forgiveness is waiting,
Remember the one who were together with Lord Jesus when he was cricified, he asked for forgveness and he received the promise that he would be with the Lord in heaven. that was a sign!
Babies are blessing from heaven, they deserve to live. He would not use us for any purpose of killing babies just for sacrifices, as He wants us to have a pure heart and clean hand.
God bless!

The whole point of this life is to learn and grow this is only done through making choices (a lot of them wrong). But that is what God had intended for us. Killing another human to "save them" from making wrong choices is contrary to every doctrine of the Christian faith. The reason murder is one of the "unpardonable sins" is because you acting against the other persons free agency and to say you are doing it in the name of saving them from their free agency is saying that you are above God's teachings. The Savior gave his life for us so we can be forgiving from our wrong choices. Taking someones life to be to not accept the Saviors sacrifice for us.

I just want to say that I find your question very intriguing and I'm sure you will receive very intense and some horrible responses to it. But, in all honesty I don't believe there is any real answer to that question. Except to say that I think our souls/conscious would not allow us to make such a choice and therefore the answer to the question is irrelevant although the question itself is not.
