IS the car a secondhand import that was registered in the UK in 2005 but was made in the year 2003, if so, then the MoT was needed in June 2006. If the car was manufactured in 2003 but not sold until 2005 as new then it will be 2008 you need an MoT.

I believe you will find that regardless of the date of manufacture the car's MOT start from the date it was first registered ..... My own car a Peugot 205 was manufacture in 1991 but wasn't registered until 1994 (a lot of manufacturers stockpile their products= they make them and then keep them in a yard until the car sales rooms sell their cars and replace them direct through the manufacturer - Disability do this a lot with the cars they provide for disabled drivers using their Disability Allowance to buy cars...) - therefore your car is due it's first MOT from the date it was 1st registered - so although it was manufactured in 2003, and although you bought it in 2005 (and you don't say whether new or secondhand) - the Mot is due from 1st registration not when it was made.

I would say the m.o.t would be due in June 2006. So your car is illegal. Get it done a.s.a.p.
Don't forget that having no M.O.T invalidates your insurance. If the police were to pull you over, then you would be done for no mot and no insurance. ooops

You should of been given details of the last MOT when you brough the car. Check when it says, cos it should at least say when you need to do one next. If you really are in dought though, get it done now and then you wont have to worry about it till next year.
