Make homemade tortilla chips.....

Easy and light recipe: Cut into triangles, lightly butter and place in toaster/conventional oven until desired crispness is achieved.

Standard: Cut into triangles and place into hot oil, frying until desired crispness is achieved.

Yes, both. Taco shells can be made by folding them on a rack in the oven, and bake at 300 or so for about 15 minunte. Tortilla chips are much easier. Cut them up with scissors, place them on a cookie sheet and salt and bake.

yes try this,

1 (12-count) package corn tortillas
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt (optional)

Preheat oil in a deep-fryer to 360 degrees F (180C).

On a cutting board, stack 3 to 4 tortillas and using a sharp knife, cut into 8 wedges. Repeat with remaining tortillas. Separate any that may stick together.

Add a handful of tortilla wedges to the hot oil, stir to separate, and fry until crisp and golden brown. Remove and drain on a brown paper bag, lined with paper towels. Salt immediately, if desired. Remove to serving bowl. Repeat procedure with remaining tortilla wedges.

Yes, you can use them as taco shells and tortilla chips but why not make desert? Put them in a frying pan until they are crispy. Then spread a little butter around on one side, sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar and enjoy!!! YUMmmmmmmmm.

I make my own chips all the time! Taco shells too! They're terrible for you, as they're deep fried, but they taste so much better than store bought.

Cut tortillas up for chips and deep fry at 350 degrees for about 3 minutes per batch.

Cut them into wedges. Put them in 1/2 inch of oil, a few at a time. Oil should be 360 degrees F. Turn them after a minute. Remove to paper towel. Salt while still hot. The best chips ever!

You could use them as taco shells or tortilla chips or you could put cheese on them and have quesadillas.

I think tacos, fajitas, or enchiladas are great choices. Does your fiance eat mayo? If yes, you could make chicken salad for sandwiches. Or, just make salads and use the left over chicken on top.
