Why is it that you are so judgemental?
I have 3 cats and wouldn't trade them for anything. I really do not care what you or people like you think... I like my cats better then I like people like you. At least my cats are not judgemental and do not enjoy trying to insult people.
Bless Cats.

I don't think that people with cats are gross. I agree that some people allow their cats to practise some not so appropriate behaviours like jumping on counters and tables where we eat and prepare our food. But a very appropriate place for a cat is on the couch or your bed. Cat hair can be vacuumed and washed off. Not a big deal!

You just are around filthy people that so happen to own cats...Its not the cats fault for doing what its inclined to do...like telling people not to walk on the floor because they may get it dirty. I am always cleaning my table tops, and use Lysol disinfecting wipes on my glass top of my dining table. I bathe my 2 kittens monthly, brush them with a de-shedding tool weekly, sanitize their litter box when i am changing it, wash their water and food bowls everyday. And my cats are never allowed to even go outside. My cats don't go near the table when we are eating.
When people come to my house, they never suspect I have any pets, let alone 2 deviously clever kittens! So you see, it all depends on the people that own the cat. If they don't set up rules for the cats to follow, keep their home clean, and keep their kitties clean, it is no one else but their own fault.
Cats are impeccably clean animals, they are always cleaning them selves, only defecating in their litter box, always maintaining their nails, this is more than I can say about most humans. Do you expect the cats to do all the human duties also? So, if you feel so inclined, tell the owners of the kitties that they need to catch up on some house work. This is coming from someone that never had to do one bit of house work her whole life. Now, I have a 5000sqft home 2 kittens, one husband and no maid, Thank-you! I find the will to clean my home my self.
I hope one day you enjoy the pleasure of having a cat; it is one of the most rewarding experiences any person could possibly have.
Sincerely,
Bedazzled-cat owner for 22 years
P.S.
To all the people saying this person is a cat hater is absurd! Just because someone has never owned a cat, and has never met a cat owner with house cleaning ability doesnt automatically hate cats...I didn't see anything wrong with the post-I would be disgusted too if I went to someones house for dinner and they let their cat outdoors and didn't ever vacuum, dust, or train their cats to stay away from the dining table when people are eating...ugh...She said "Why is it that PEOPLE with cats are gross"...not that cats are...Why the personal attacks? I think all you who posted rude comments, instead of informative ones, are just angry that you fall into that category of Gross people that so happen to own cats!!!

Have you ever loved anything or anyone? I'm guessing NO! Not everyone lets their cats on their kitchen counters and tables and I hate to inform you but their butt is probably cleaner than YOUR BUTT! Cats are very clean animals that is why they groom half the day trying to get every part of their body's clean (I don't think I know of anybody else that can do that). My cat, Mollybrown will be 22 years old and I would take her over a lot of people I know! Cats are very sensitive animals and will react to BAD PEOPLE or CAT HATERS! I think you were mistreated when you were a child and this has caused you to be so MEAN! Maybe you should be locked up in a room with a bunch of cats for a week or two to cure you?

I think that you just don't like cats. I have 3 cats and i love them a lot. I don't let my cats walk all over the tables or anything like that. The highest they go is on the couch or on a chair. I do let them walk on my dresser, but i don't eat in my room. My cats are inside cats also. If you brush the cat reguilarly it doesnt have all that hair that gets everywhere. so I don't know what kind of cat people you know!!!

It is a lack of training on the humans part that you are seeing. I have cats and have had them as far as I can remember. Training is necessary and I see it as human laziness if they allow their cats to do this behavior. Cats are very smart and learn quickly. They try to be sneaky behind your back but there are ways to get around that also. I had a cat that would wait until I went to bed to jump on the kitchen counters. Some cheap mouse traps and a layer of newspaper stopped that. The traps went off when she jumped on the counter but the newspaper prevented any harm, plus it made alot of noise she couldn't figure out where it came from. Cat hair can be kept under control with plain ole brushing. I have cats but I will not tolerate bad behavior. They can and will learn who is boss in my house, and that includes where they sleep. Not the couch, but their own bed or blanket and they will learn if you are persistent in the training. There are sprays you can use to discourage sleeping where you don't want them to sleep or even go to. Training is the key word here.

I don't usually get like this but are you just stupid? Dogs do the same thing. If you don't like cats don't get one, but be smart for once and don't classify everyone as being nasty because you have a hang up. Also ever heard of wiping off things, if a cat or dog gets on a table wipe it off. I had a dog and had more dog hair on me then with any cat. I think you don't like any animals and had a bad experience with a cat, I feel sorry for you.

Not all people allow their cats to do the things you mentioned so I don't think that your generalizations are fair. Obviously "from what you have seen" people with cats are nasty. Are these people that YOU know??? Cat hair everywhere is due the fact that these people that you are visiting don't know how to clean their homes.
I think that if you don't have anything nice to say that you shouldn't say anything at all.
If someone lets THEIR cat do what THEY want in THEIR home that is THEIR business, not yours. You do what you want in your own home, don't you? Would you want other people telling you what to do in YOUR home?? I think not.
Why don't you spend your time more productively by helping people on Yahoo answers instead of criticizing people?

You shouldn't generalize all cat owners. We are not all alike and we are not gross!
Our cat does not climb onto counters or into food. She has a spot on the couch she is allowed to lay on. Otherwise she lays on the floor. We trained her for what is acceptable in our home. She is 16 and a wonderful cat.

Then don't get a cat. Cats consider themselves Kings/Queens of the house and we are their humble servants. Most of the cat lovers will let their cat get away with more than we would let our children do, but that does not make us gross, just cat lovers. Maybe the people you know should learn how to clean their house if its nasty. Cats don't like nasty houses.
