my cousin always thinks he starts things first... ok, i wanted a guitar and me, my cousin, and my other cousin all got one at the same time. i got an mp3 player, so did they. i liked a bunch of cool bands, then he likes them too... hes such a copycat! the thing that makes me mad about this is he thinks he starts it forst and makes me look like a poser! i know its immature to think like this, but it just gets on my nerves. its like a constant battle between us... i want peace!!!!!!!!!!!

Your cousin must really look up to you, I would not think of it as being a copycat at all - you should feel proud that he looks up to you and wants to be like you. It might get annoying, but really he is seems just to be looking for some sense of direction in his life - chances are that he will move on from this..but I think it is petty to be upset over this - family is family and try to encourage him to like other things as well.

Next time just do what you like and don't tell him about it. usually if you share things with other people they will become interested as well depending on how good you make it sound. All they know is that they like it too. Your cousin may look up to you even if they are older. You have a mind that he likes so take it as a compliment.

I had the same thing with one of my friends. She eventually got over it but maybe your cousin is just trying to be within the same crowd and want to be able to like the same stuff you do. He is just probably trying to figure out what he like and what he wants to do. I think that you should help him and don't throw a fit because that's what i did and lets just say me and my friend aren't friends anymore.
