George ~
I just had it done 4 months ago due to my nose being broken many times from boxing over a 30 year period. The right side of my nose was completely shut.My Doctor removed quite a bit of cartilage. The procedure lasted about a hour and there was little if no pain at all. There was slight swelling but nothing very noticeable to anyone I am close with. The one thing that my Doctor cautioned me on but didn't happen was infection and appearance wise your nose might have the slightest of bends from the way he/she stitches it from the inside. Remember that this isn't a cosmetic procedure like the guy/girl above got, next to Breast Augmentation, Rhinoplasty is the most popular for women, this procedure is strictly to clear an obstruction in your nose. If your nose is crooked it will continue to be crooked after the surgery.
For the first couple of weeks it seemed like I was breathing so much better but after a while you just get use to it and it seems pretty normal.
Make sure that you find a reputable Doctor to do your surgery because after all it is your face we're talking about. Make sure you take all medication the Doctor gives to you.
Good Luck George, I hope this surgery works for you.

I have great Insurance Blue Cross/ Blue Shield PPO. I think the whole thing was around six grand. I know that having any medical procedure done is very expensive. I have other things going on medically and without my Insurance, I'd be well over a million in debt. Sorry Bro.

Yes! I had a complete Rhinoplasty. Tumor on the right side, deviated septum on the left. A HUGE ordeal but once done and recovered; better breathing, no snoring, maybe even better looking.
