Since it's basically apparently possible to buy/steal/ sneak your way into our country, should they just pull the plug on ALL immigration stuff for about 10 years until it gets figured out effectively?

No, I think that the fence/wall should still be built and tighten up the screws on the application process while at the same time figuring out a way to shorten how long the hole process takes because the fact that it takes soooooo long to do it legally is one of the reasons why they try to skip all that, especially when sneaking in is so easy, hence the need for the fence!! Lets also start deporting the illegals in our jails (to whatever country theyre from) and all those gang members roaming our streets and circling our childrens' schools. Lets give the hard working ones work permits and charge them back taxes while at the same time cracking down on welfare fraud caused by both illegals and legals. There has to be implemented a better way of investigating fake SS# given at the time of aid/food stamp/medical application!! So much can be done that is realistic, vote folks!!

That would be stupid. I am Physician's Assistant and I work in the ER. Most of the nurses in our hospital are foreign born, about 70%. But even with that, we are still understaffed. If you put a stop to immigration, our health care system would collapse. We just don't have enough doctors and nurses. Not to mention the IT people in the Hospital admin department. Ideally, we should encourage our students to study to fill this gap, but all they seem to be interested in right now is sex, becoming EMO and dressing in those black goth costumes.
If you want to control immigration, it should be selective, not an all out stop. Staw would be shortsighted and idiotic.

Absolutly. It's obvious there needs to more people hired to get the legal ones processed. More to follow up on those with visitors visas. Some massive work with all the bogus SS#'s and documents. More people at our borders and ports. And that doesn't even touch the illegal issue yet. It will take YEARS to fix this fiasco and even longer if they won't let us enforce our laws. They want a ban on all deportation and I want to know who in their right mind wants to KEEP child mosestors, rapists, murders and the such around? Our school system is in chaos and we have to get back on the same page and give new immigrants and our citizens time to adapt to this great change. They have no clue how many are here legally, how many waiting patiently to come legally, how many are illegal and a host of issues to sort out.

I think all government officals need to watch a carlos mencias dvd, take his answer to immigration and put it into effect. My grandparents, on my mom's side, came over illegally but they joined the military and became citizens. Each illegal should only get one chance. However, If those who come over do not want to work, then put a electric chip by their butt, so if they try and cross over they will get a big electric shock. I say, if you are willing to sever the country's best intrest and invest into it, go ahead and work, enjoy the benifits. If you are lazy, get the heck OUT!

That is a good idea. Maybe not 10 years, but we need time to account for everyone who is here before we let more people in.

Yes, that is a great idea. It's what i said we should do all along. America was here before their immigration and we will be here after we stop it.

That is an awful idea. We need to deal only with illegal immigration, which is social reform, rather than all immigration.

I agree 100 percent. At the same time get all the illegals out

Think of all the brilliant minds who would be unable to add to our country - doctors, researchers, etc. who would be turned away. That seems fairly ridiculous.

No, our government has been sitting on this for too long already. The problem has only gotten worse.
