I am considering getting a digital camera for a trip to Italy and want to know if I take a load of pictures while there will they get ruined on a memory card going through airport security?

No - Digital media is not effected by the xray like traditional film.

no they should be fine...go for it and take your laptop so you can download pictures everynight and see what you have and save money on extra memory cards....lots of people take cameras and laptops thru security...i have many times with no problems

No, been to Italy several times with several cards and camera. No problem with the security check..................

well i took my phone to crete with me and it has a memory card in it and that was fine so should be ok :)

it shouldnt.....i work in a photo lab and here lately i've done alot of pics. from ppl travelin and i havent heard anything about it messin it up
