I'd see a professional, for something as important as your wedding when all eyes are on you I wouldn't trust myself to do it right - get a trim so you're off to a good start and set up a schedule for deep conditioning treatments.

Best wishes!

Try KMS detangler for blondes ($8). It doesn't matter if you have blond hair or not. It's a purple cream that you use while you're in the shower or not. I have fine hair, and I use a drop about the size of a pea. I stand under the water and then rub the drop between my palms so it's spread out, then step out from under the water and immediately work it into my hair. You may need more than a small drop. If you use too much, then you rinse some of it out. No big deal. There is no buildup to speak of. If you straighten your hair, use this while it's wet, then straighten. When your hair is dry, spray Bed Head Tigi Headrush ($17) over your hair and brush it again. If you want a cheaper solution, then try Pro Shine ($4), but don't use too much!
The point is to use something to smooth it down while it's wet so when you brush/comb it, the brush.comb slides through better (a wide-tooth pick causes less breakage). And when it's dry, to coat it with a fine mist of lightweight oli for shine and to coat the hair cuticles. If you have more frizzies, then use Redkin Glass when it's wet ($13). It's expensive but by far the best smoothing serum.

You should make sure to use a swim cap on your hair because the chlorine is damaging especially over time. Make sure you clean your hair good when you wash it even if you let the lather stay for a couple of minutes before rinsing it out to get rid of any build-up. Make sure you deep condition your hair or use a leave-in. Also use high quality products only, perhaps a hair holding product and especially a high quality de-frizzer.

Deep conditioner always helps. Also, you should use a swimming cap over your hair when swimming.
