Yes, I agree with you 100%
Guns are not the problem, it is the person pulling the trigger who is not mentally stable, or the criminal who is not even legally purchasing it but buying it on the streets, usually stolen or trafficked in, and there is no controlling that, no matter how hard the government would try it's impossible. They try to target the responsible and even gun control wouldn't control the situation.

Agreed. The biggest problem is that if gun control advocates had their way, the only citizens who would disarm and surrender their weapons are the law abiding ones who pose no threat to begin with.
This would remove guns from the people who use them responsibly. The other ones, including these school shooters, would still have an ample supply of guns avaialable to them via the black market or other avenues.

I am in no way in favor of gun control.I am in favor of making people more accountable. And some of these issues at the school could find that the parents of these gun totting juveniles need to be held in some measure accountable for their children. The first thing Hitler did before he started his war was to take the guns away from the citizens.

A gun is a tool just like a hammer, screwdriver or even a car. Just because SOME people use these to kill, doesn't mean the law-abiding firearm owners should be punished.
Taking away my gun because I might shoot someone is like cutting off my tongue because I might lie.

A gun is an inanimate object.
People are animate objects that make decisions.
The problem with American violence isn't that tools are available to make violence more efficient. The problem with American violence is that a larger number of Americans feel entitled to utilize violence as a problem solving technique. Ban guns, ban knives, ban road rage, ban fist fights. Will we be less violent? 'Course not. Violence is culturally ingrained. "I'd kill for a cup of coffee." Meaning, I really want coffee. "I really slayed them tonight." Meaning I entertained an audience very well. "She took the last donut, I'm going to kill her!" Meaning, I'm not happy with her actions. How many times to people say some sort of threat to commit physical violence every single day without even thinking about it? How many times do you hear it every day? We don't mean it literally, but the fact remains that we've trivialized the word "kill" until it means nothing more than a way to express a greater than normal desire. And language is only one part of culture.

I agree with you. Many factors in our society factor into the increase of violence...Movies, Television, Video Games, Music, Sports, etc. A firearm is a good thing in the hands of a responsible person, but a nightmare in the hands of a maniac. The need for personal protection is greater today than at any other time in history.

been saying this for years as hypothetically any person can take a firearm that has killed someone and take it to a shooting range and have fun with the same gun.

your argument is flawed. if people didn't have easy access to guns, they wouldn't kill people with them. look at the difference between the US and Canada. very few murders are committed here, and most of those are done with a knife, rope, or bare hands because we don't have easy access to guns while in the States, there is at least one murder every day with a gun.
Mind you, our murder rate is going up because Asian and Muslim gangs are smuggling in guns from the States. And you are worried about violence moving south across the border!

look at the rest of the world! the US has a serious problem with guns. and don't give that charlton heston crap that is not guns that kill ppl, ppl do...cause guns help you know. i mean in the uk gun crime is existent, but much lower! we do not have guns at asda(wall mart), or other supermarkets...they are not available so easily. it's either in the black market or through legal processes. so guns should not be made available to ppl at all.
in my opinion, they should just dissapear from the fAce of the earth.
cheerio!
