This is a very simple recipe that will require about 5 minute prep time. All you need is,
Chuck roast (very important that it is chuck)
One or two boxes of dry onion soup any flavor
Carrots and potatoes (if you like them)
About 2 onions ( if you like them)
Cut the potatoes or by canned potatoes, cut onions in half or fours. Put the roast, onion soup, carrots, onions, and potatoes in a roasting pan with water and cook at 325 for about 4 to 5 hours. No need to baste it just let cook and it makes the best pot roast ever. It is very simple and not expensive to make. You only need enough water to come to the top of the roast.

Home made stew in a big pot on the stove like gran made with all fresh ingredients carrots, swede, parsnips, onions, stewing meat and potatoes.
I put all ingredients into pot except potatoes and put seasoning in also three oxo cubes and cook slow for three hours on a low heat.
I then put potatoes in for half an hour and when done I put in a mixture of 3 oxo cubes and cornflour to thicken. Pop the dumplings in at the end and there you have it wonderful granny homemade stew. You can add whatever you want in veg or lentils/pearl barley ect but I do not like lentals/pearl barley so just put my veg in that we like.
Very tasty, full of goodness and also warming/filling for winter.
PS Can I have a zillion reward points now

Ribs - either w BBQ sauce or teriyaki sauce. They come out juicy, fall-off-the-bone good -- or mix up a packet of dry Lipton onion/mushroom mix w water & pour over roasts or chicken w carrots, onions & potatoes. I always add herbs/spices as I go along - no dish comes out the same twice. Lipton savory herb & garlic is great on chicken too. Experiment.

Steamed pork and mushroom with soy sauce and garlic. Takes about 3 hours but better if left longer. One of several dishes I use to make up a Chinese meal. Try it, it's unbelievably good.
