I so badly want to visit New Orleans, it sounds like such an interesting place to me, especially after reading Anne Rice books, and watching movies about it. Would it be worth it to visit New Orleans now, or is it still too damaged from the hurricane to enjoy it?

Of course you should! Whatever you want, you can find in New Orleans. If you want to have a party-hardy time, it's there. If you want art and museums, it's there. If you have small kids, there's the childrens museum, the Audubon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas. If you want a french market, it's there. Cathedrals and beautiful churches, drag queesn, great food, music. Whatever you're looking, you're sure to find it in New Orleans! It's wonderful.

And yes, New Orleans is back, it's the outskirts and smaller suburbs of New Orleans that are still damamged.

no, new orleans is great. I live 30min north of NOLA .. and go every weekend for entertainment. Theres endless to do there. The French Quarter was practically untouched by the Hurricane.
The hurricane only effected the Locals.. most of the tourist areas have been open and running.. u prob wont see much of the damage done unless you specifially go out looking for it.. or go to the lower lying parts of New Orleans.

A friend of mine just came back from New Orleans and she had a great time, I guess it depends on what you want to do there but she said the french quarter is still a happenning place and she partied hard. Have a great trip if you go.
