Think about this...

Man has been inventing religions for thousands of years : sun worship, moon worship, ocean worship, star worship, Egyptian religion, Inca religion, Aztec religion, Maya religion, Native American religion, Greek religion, Roman religion, Aboriginal religion, African tribal religions, mono theistic religions, Maori religion etc etc. the current crop of religions seem to be more in the long list of man made religions that have come and gone over the millenia.

Separate a calf from its cow, and it has a natural insticnt to get back to the cow. The cow to moos and announces its presence. Separate two lovers, and they have an intense propensity to get back to each other.

So too, separate man from God and man too has an equal affinity to get back to God. Religion is but a pathway for man to make the reaching of this goal easier. God is the end of Man's search.

So yes religion is man made.

The created world is a tranquilizer. The world with its infinite attractions seduces man's five senses. Man yields and under the influence of this great tranquilizer - he debies God. Fact is he is completely drugged by his senses and can only accept what his mere senses can measure.

Having lost his consciousness thus, some flounder in the depths of science unable to rise above the seductive power of the world that can be measured and that too with his very weak senses.

When man finally rises above his senses by due reasoning with his intellect and by expressing his natural self - the ability to love, he begins to find a way to get out of the effect of the great tranquilizer.

Blessed are those who do so, for it is only they who can claim to have even seen a glimpse of reality.

Yes today all religions are man made. There is only one religion in the Bible that was made of God and that is when He told the Nation of Israel how to live and gave them the commandments. When they rejected their King and had the Lord Jesus Christ killed on the cross they fell and were blinded. Romans 11: 25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Today God is deal with all men alike through what the Lord Jesus Christ did on the cross for all that would believe. He died for our sins, He was buried and took our sins away and He rose again the third day for our justification. Today man has made up rules to try and please God. Religion is when you try and please God by your works. Grace is where God has done it all for you. Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Romans 3: 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

Q. I was recently told that Christianity is not a Religion. Please explain.

A. Briefly put, Religion is man searching for God. A "road or search" for The Divine.

Religion (Religio) is "a system", man working or do things to find, please, or placate God.
