I use Concerta, going up to 54 mg. a day and see a psychologist once a week. Also, I found that using a planner/to do list helps me a lot.

I take Ritalin. Concerta didn't work for me. But I think you should use whatever works.

I have a palm pilot, and boy, I could sell those things. I set alarms in it, and write EVERYTHING down. I would be lost without it. My problem with an agenda was that I was stuffing stuff into it (saying I'd write it in later) and it was hard to look ahead in it to see if stuff was coming up.

I don't see my psychiatrist more than three or four times a year. Just to renew my meds. I've been doing well for a number of years (I was diagnosed with adult onset adhd, but "we" think that I probably had it all my life, I was just able to cope before I got to university).

I saw a therapist for a few years. He was the most helpful part of my treatment. If you can afford it, I would say go to a therapist (unless your pdoc is doing therapy with you..in which case, you're lucky!).

Very.. Carefully.. I to have adult ADHD. I take Strattra 25 mg. 2x's/Day And I have to have EVERYTHING written down. My house is pratically covered in Post-It's.

A planner dose me no good, I forget to look at it. But.. I've found that talking to someone who can related works. Also, I have a son that forgets nothing.. He helps alot lol.

There is a yahoo widget that you can set alarms for and it will ring, (if you remember to have your sound up) I have one set for every little thing, from getting up, to getting the kids on the bus, to getting them off of the bus, to when its time to fix dinner, even bed times. It gets annoying but darn it, its worth it! I even have times that me and my son take our meds. After a while it all becomes a habit. And that is the key.. Habits. If I break my schedual.. I have an awful time getting back on it.

My advice.. Get a schedual up, and stick too it.
