I think that is exactly what is flawed in most religions. I believe that each person individually should decide what is rightous and true for themselves... what morals they decide to live by should be to their own discretion. Even the "holiest" around have made many mistakes... but it comes down to all the many perspectives of what a mistake is and what is right. Being in touch with your own personal God is important... forming your own ideas and living by what you truely believe to be purposeful is the art of finding happiness.

When we all figure out and live by our own morality, things really get messy. There are people and groups that believe in some pretty disturbing things, like romantic relationships with minors and very young children. If they are left to determine their own morality, who's to say they are wrong? I would hope that you'd agree that, even though it's an extreme example, it is very contrary to what most of the rest of us would consider moral. Where do we draw the line? Or don't we? Do we abolish all laws?
As for the rest, you can choose your own purpose and meaning. Many religious folks have simply found their purpose and meaning in God. To most, the difference between their lives with God and their lives prior is so astonishingly better with God that they feel the need to share that opportunity with others. Can you blame them?
God loves us all and wants to interact with us all. Finding that out has made my life do a complete 180 for the better.

all i know is that the more i leave God out of my life, the more things get screwed up. the more i include God in my life and surrender to him, the better things get. i can only speak for myself.
however, this nation (USA) having been founded on many of the Holy Bible's moral absolutes, we can see its systematic decline as we step further and further away from those moral absolutes and enter into a new religion of "tolerance" and "self-serving ideals".
The bottom line is, i much prefer a world with Biblical Moral Absolutes than a world without them.

Is it so hard to believe that the devil has no influence on your moral choices? That he isn't tempting you to make the wrong moral choices every day? God doesn't make my moral choices for me. However, I do pray to Him for guidance. Then I use the free will that He gave me to make my choices. I don't always make the right choice. I am human and a sinner. I pray for the strength, each day, to fight the good fight and to take the moral high ground. Not an easy task. Especially in today's society.

Not very hard at all. Eve believed it even when she was in a paradise like Eden.
Satan said "God knows that your eyes will be opened when you eat it. You will become just like God, knowing everything, both good and evil."
The woman was convinced. The fruit looked so fresh and delicious, and it would make her so wise! So she ate some of the fruit. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her. Then he ate it, too.

It is not hard to believe at all. The world is a by product of this belief. Look around you and ask, "Is this the way I would like the world to be?" Self centerness created this mess; my own purpose, my own meaning, my own subjective morality. This question is not the cure, its the problem.

The Holy Spirit guides me.
...And, I have the Word of God.
If you only have yourself as your standard or standard of measurement then you don't have much.
There is a higher standard.
