Yes it really gags me. I worked with a lady once that would blow her nose at the table everytime we sat down to eat

I hate it when people keep sniffing that stuff up there nose. When they need to blow. It's gross sounding especialy when they have a cold. I really would rather have them blow. It doesn't gross me out none that way.
The rules of ettiquette say your surpposed to go to hold it in but I think going to the bathroom to blow if much more practical.

There is no reason for blowing your nose at the table. Besides the fact that it is GROSS and makes horrible sounds, there are GERMS in what you have blown into your kleenex/hankie.
Excusing yourself to go to the bathroom not only allows your fellow diners to continue eating in peace, but allows you the opportunity to wash your hands to get rid of the germs that you could be spreading to others.

I think it can be done discreetly and quietly and not be considered rude. People have allergies and colds and have to go on living. It's not gross, just a part of life.

It would be more rude and gross if they let it run all over the table. Sometimes you don't have time to wait. I know it's snot nice but it's life.

It's yuckier when they keep sniffling the nasties back up, in my opinion. It would be better if they'd excuse themselves and blow their nose elsewhere, but as long as gets done...

I do but sometimes it's necessary. Especially if someone is eating spicy food.
