Most states can take not only your state refund, but your federal as well. If you're not getting caught up, they are also able to take bonuses from work in full, without the limitation that is applied to regular wages. In some states, you can lose your license and even go to jail for non-payment of child support.
If you're paying more than you can afford, it is possible to ask for a reduction in support. This won't keep you from owing what you already owe, but might keep you out of hot water in the future. BUT, it will reduce the amount of money you are using to support your children (depending on your own situation), and the mother will not be happy, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. My ex got support reduced due to financial hardship, but he has medical problems as well, and made me aware of the situation before applying with the government. I know that this is going to be an unpopular suggestion, especially with single moms, but sometimes it is necessary.
If you are healthy and able, pick up a second job delivering pizzas at night and get the arrearages paid down, then you won't have to worry about it at all.
Best of luck, and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Absolutely. And don't try and change jobs as your background check will show the unpaid child support. Not just as a financial obligation but as a personal failure on your part.
Make your highest priority to get everything paid and current. Set up an automatic payment system and get your life on track. All those little things you buy everyday won't help you make this right.
If you think credit card debt looks badly on a job application, consider what an employer sees with unpaid child support payments.....

once you're the deadbeat ensure that owes and are asking because you owe money. i desire they locate you and lock your asss up. I hate deadbeats like you. to respond to your question loser definite they could be able to. It doesnt count number what state you're in. once you dont pay the money in a unmarried state you get a warrent from the warrent officer. They dont implement them until eventually eventually sweeps time. Then once your license is suspended on the instantaneous you get blackbooked in the computers. So if you're in NC as you suggested once you get your registration number plate ran or pulled over you get picked up. At sweeps time in the journey that they comprehend the position you stay they'll tell the community pd in NC to %. you up and deliver you decrease back up or stay in there county until eventually eventually you pay. GOD I HATE DEADBEATS ! also so a concepts as your tax returns once the warrent is issued you get a lien positioned on your credit and it is going federal and state. so that you wont get them both. besides once you report your returns then they comprehend your correct region. LOL
