To Moonsister...It has been proven that its bad for your baby, so yes it's wrong of her. and if she continues to to it the doctors already told her if it's in the baby's system, they are taking it away. I am just trying to stop it before that happens.

As already mentioned, contat CPS. Although, I'm not sure if they will do anything. I'm a mental health worker. I knew someone who was doing a similar thing, my agency attempted to file a complaint, but was told that they only would step in AFTER the baby was born believe it or not. But I'd try anyway!

I don;t really think you should get involved. Smoking pot is rather naughty all though i know Midwives who claim it is the best pain relief and best way to relax in labor. As for smoking.. yes it is harmfull but if she was to cut down to 5 a day she wouldn;t be increasing her risks any more then .01% which is signifigantly lower then the risks impossed by driving on a congested freeway, living in LA, working with cleaners or working in a bar/ restaurant where there is a smoking section.
There are more risks in pregnancy that pose a higher risk then just smoking... would you be making this fuss if she was eating too much high mercury content fish? or if she was lifting heavy objects too often? Did you know that you raise your risk of autisim eack time you have an ultra sound?
Did you know that the Placenta is the most amazing filtering organ the human body will ever have and that a woman lungs AND placenta are filtering what she smokes and thus reducing the amount of toxins the baby is getting?
I'd really try and educate yourself before you go interfering in others lives.. besides CPS should be busy protecting children from being abused (sexually, physically and mentally).

I would call the florida department of children & families and let them now and if she's going to the to the doctors, they should be able to tell if she has drugs in her system and if so they could take her daughter away.

YOU can't stand by? Is she under the age of 18? are you her mother?
if not there is nothing you can do.
Quit worrying about what other people do and worry about what you do. YOU may not like it but unfortunately for you, YOUR conscience isn't the ultimate judge and jury over SOMEONE ELSE'S DECISIONS.
