Is there an easier/quicker way to fill a cell with color besides clicking the fill color button on the toolbar? I need to highlight several cells yellow and was wondering if there is some sort of shortcut key, etc. I can use.

Yes, I know how to highlight and fill already. What I should have asked for is a macro that I will be able to do this with quickly. I am highlighting cells as I go, not all at once.

Fill one cell in yellow, than press Ctrl+Y to redo the same action. YOu can also use ctrlC & ctrlV but that erases the contents of your cells.

You can also record a macro, which is, in my opinion the best
choice.
Record a macro for one cell only and give it a shortcut like ctrl+G then as you go by the cells just press ctrl+G the cell will be filled yellow

Or, you can select all the cells you need to highlight whatever color and hold down CTRL as you select them , this allows you to select only certain cells, then click the fill button.

Using the hot key to cut and paste will only erase your data in the cells, not fill down.

Using CTRL Y is good, but if you have small hands there's a chance your pinky won't stretch across the entire keyboard.

Another thing you can do is if the cells all have some data that is the same- such as Yes or No, or some such criteria- you can put a filter bar across the labeled rows and filter out just the criteria you need, select the cells and high light them all. Then just un-filter what you had before leaving some Yellow cells and some not.

Fill a cell yellow, then double click on the Format Painter button (it looks like a little paintbrush). Then just click once into each cell you like. Click the button again to turn the Format Painter off again. Best way is to create a simple macro.

We do have a predefined shortcut to fill up Excel Row/Column with Background Color and the key combination is: ALT+H+H and then we can select the color of our wish.

I don't think so because it expects the user to select a colour. You could record a macro - this will convert several key strokes to a single click of your choosing
