Ok...generally speaking I'm against breeders. There's always the possibility of inbreeding, which leads to serious health problems. And let's not forget what a PETA frenzy puppy mills stir up.
I think it's kinda sick when a person will spend $150-$300 dollars on a pure bred pup when a puppy that costs $75 to adopt, is being put to sleep at the nearest animal shelter. Kinda makes you wonder what's motivating people. Do they really like dogs or do they just want something they can put clothes on and carry in a purse?
Now, if you're set on a pure bred and you have any moral standing what so ever I would suggest you go through a rescue. You might not get a puppy, but you'll get the breed you want and you'll be helping out one of God's creatures.
Have a wonderful day...Puppy Nazi.

I am in Spring/The Woodlands and have two Dachsunds (one is a rescue). Email me and I will hook you up although I'm not much for paying and encouraging breeding animals for money. I know someone trying to find a home for one.
Will be out this afternoon and will write back later today.

I have Mini's and a lot of people will try to pass of a larger mini called a "tweenie" (in between mini and standard). My wieners weigh 6 to 7 1/2 lbs. You need to be careful what you are getting. I'm more than happy to answer more questions if you have them. Sorry I can't help you....I live in Utah

Yes. go to www.puppyfind.com. Put in Dachshund and the state you live in. There are lots of listings for Dachshunds. Our family has 7 dachshunds we love them! One of ours came from Texas and one other came from South Carolina. The others we've had from litters. Check into the Human Society if you havent already they might have dachshunds or look online for dachshund rescue sites in Texas. There maybe one near you. I hope this helps best of luck!

In a tiny pet shop! Seriously though, try looking on Google to find lists of breeders, you will find your dog, and price, with a little diligence. Peace

actually do a search on the net= im sure you can find a breader much easier on here then anywhere else- but you might have to travel to get them- or at least wait till they breed some more!

Try beeders.net. they list breeders in your area by zip code and breed you are searching for. They go from local to statewide. Alot of breeders also have websites you can check out their quality of dogs.
