The first animal sacrifice was to cover the Sin of Adam & Eve. their skin was used to cover the nakedness of man. since that time animals have been used to provide the blood needed to cover man's sins until the Lamb of God came and died. animals are just animlas and don't have souls.

Animals were the first food. Meat is food. I like meat. I love pets, so I don't eat them. Hopefully they aren't delicious.

Emotion has little to do with it; either it bothers you to eat meat or it doesn't. I believe in giving thanks to the creator and the animal for sustenance.
