You can feel your heartbeat at many places where arteries come close to the skin's surface, like the wrist, inside of the bend of the arm, side of your neck, etc. The aorta, the biggest artery, leaves the heart, comes down through the abdomen (between the stomach and spinal column) before it branches into the femoral arteries going to the legs. Since it is such a large vessel you can often feel its pulsations. I am not sure what age person you are, but some older people develop aneurysms of the aorta, which is a ballooning of the vessel due to weakening vessel walls. This could make the pulsation more pronounced, and needs to be evaluated by a physician pronto, as aneurysms can rupture and, in the case of the aorta, would result in nearly instant death. High blood pressure can also make pulsations more pronounced as the heart is pumping harder and the pulse becomes bounding, or more pronounced.

Generally you can feel your pulse just about anywhere in your body. But if you feel a really strong pulse in your stomach it could be a sign of an aneurysm. I would get it checked out if it's a fairly strong pulse. I have that problem but mine ended up being nothing. But it's still better to be safe than sorry in this situation. Aneurysms are nothing to play around with.

I'd say you can feel it almost anywhere. Not that its strong enough to actually take your pulse or anything but blood runs through all parts, why wouldn't you feel it? I know when I'm laying down on my back, not only can I feel my heartbeat in my stomach, but if I'm really calm I can see my stomach move to my heartbeat too. And when say, my foot falls asleep. . . when it gets tingles and starts to feel normal I always feel my blood rushing down to them..
